Classic makeup - first pic?

Post by Dannorama » Mon Sep 28, 2020 5:58 pm

According to the History section, December 1, 1971 was the performance debut of Alice's classic makeup. I have looked, but I can't seem to find any specific shots from that show. Is THIS the first picture of him with that look?

If you go to the next line you'll see a link to Len DeLessio's photos which were supposedly taken at the hotel between the two Dec 1st shows. Presumably if he photographed the Early show then they would be among the earliest (along with anyone else taking photos there) unless someone took photos during rehearsals, which is quite possible - for promotional things.
Can't really offer anything more. That's too obscure even for me ;)

The Killer cover makeup was the one that did it for me.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if these were from the same night, but now I see that they may be. It looks like he was still ironing out the appearance of the new look. (Shorter, stubbier lines, etc.) I have always thought that the progression away from the spider eyes was partially due to them starting to play bigger venues, and the new look carried over a greater distance.

I don't think so. *I think* the new look/make up was for the new 'killer' show.
'Killer' itself still has the "old" spider make up, so I think the change was when they started to work on the new show.
Others may know better though.
