Thanks Padre and Patrick too for your earlier comment.

I'm also wondering when the band video clips were filmed for Dont Give Up. Given that Chuck was sporting a full beard during his interview with Roxie a few weeks ago it's either been filmed very last minute with Chuck taking the beard off for it or at least a few months ago before quarantine.

Either way, I'm in the camp of wanting to see the touring band recording material as well. Can't see anything other than a positive outcome from it.

I liked EOAC which had Ryan playing a big role on the writing side and with Tommy writing his own stuff there would be a talented mix of potential collaborators to lock in a room and write for a new album

Don't overlook Chuck in your writing room. He has a fair few credits already, and Beasto proves he can write. Throw Nita into the mix to add a slightly harder edge and it could be really something.
Not so sure if Glen has any writing history, but sure he could add to the mix if asked.

Won't happen of course.... :(

Well you never know : Chuck isn't probably the only one reading this site now and then ! Without overestimating the importance of whatever is being said here, we did see a maior change in the setlist recently, didn't we ;)

Last album I enjoyed. Great cover too.

eyes wasnt bad, but a very mixed album with uneven pacing and the worst ballad ever written by alice. Diamonds was even worse for me, terrible album with only a couple of highlights. ACAS has a couple of tunes but largely an album killed by its incompetent producers. Loved alice since bob ezrin came back! seems to me alice has upped his game and bob pushes him.
Id like the band to perform , chuck and nita could be a killer heavy metal team but i know this doesnt fit with alices schedule for the most part. Shame.
I dont mind ryan but i dont think he is a strong writer (or player) to be honest, it seems to me that nita being in the band has made him up his game so who knows.

Seriously????
Have you listened to his solo albums??? Probably my favourite set of albums of the last 20 years. Not a bad moment on them.

And Ryan plays the way he likes to play. but if he needs to shred he CAN do that too (I've seen him). It's just not his style or the type of music he likes. He's a HUGELY underrated player and writer.

I have his latest album and saw him on that tour and i had fun with it (tho quite sloppy when i saw him tbh especially in his "guitar solo" spot of the night) i have some of his other bits, dads porno mag and another one i cannot remember now.
He is ok, just not my style, thats all - my fave alice guys are people like Dick wagner, kane roberts, steff burns. I much prefer the technical/shred sort of style, but having said that two of my fave solos of all time are pass the gun around by dick wagner and the idol by bob kulick (RIP) both of which are not shred fests.

As i say i like the eyes, it was just too scattershot for me (and i really do hate that ballad!) and diamonds just didnt hang together at all. It has grown on me but when i first heard it i was actually angry i disliked it that much hahahah. But zombie Dance is good, six hours (with a very nice roxie solo it has to be said) and dirty diamonds are both decent and saga of jesse jane is funny in small doses.

I suppose not writing with his band allows him to change genres and styles easier (not to mention getting studio time around touring - which seems to be the main problem from what i have read)

Is anyone still listening to this? I like it but don't feel the urge to click on the link and play it.

I think it's a bit of a rake in that the 45 is one sided. Was there nothing worthy of putting on the flip.

The $1+ download is what I went for & I have it on my phone.
I played it last last week for a friend of mine.
He enjoyed it but he's also not a Cooper Fan.
I use the random on my phone on my local bike rides & it doesn't sound out of place with whatever it's up against.

A 1 sided vinyl 45?
I'm not paying todays price for one of those! :teach:

I've not played it for a few weeks now but my son (28) says he plays it a lot and has got a few of his friends into it as well. They like the attitude. Strangely, none are rock fans. Maybe if it had got airplay it may have had a chance..

Nope which is a bummer as all momentum for me has gone before I get the vinyl, I think if they had managed ot keep a B side unheard i'd still be excited.

For the benefit of anyone who hasn't ordered/received the 7" vinyl which was released today, despite them all "playing" in the video, Tommy is the only band member that actually plays on the track, according to the personnel list on the back: :smack:

Alice Cooper: Vocals
Tommy Henriksen: Guitars, Programming and Keyboards
Paul Randolph: Bass
Garrett Bielaniec: Guitar
Matthew Smith: Guitar
Wayne Kramer: Guitar
Bob Ezrin: Programming, Backing Vocals

Paul, Garrett and Wayne also played on the Breadcrumbs EP, which was recorded at Rust Belt Studios in Detroit - one of three studios noted for Don't Give Up (the others being Loud Mouse Studios, Toronto and Casa Cooper in Phoenix).

Not a real surprise really. Once we knew that the track came from the 'Detroit Stories' sessions it was unlikely they were playing on it.
"Casa Cooper" of course what Alice has been calling his home in recent lockdown interviews, where the new vocal would have presumably been done.

It's depressing to know that the tour band didn't play on the track... what's wrong with Cooper/Ezrin for sake's sake!?

The same that has been wrong with Ezrin since the 70s. But it is what it is. And frankly in this instance the track was already there from Detroit sessions, so fair enough. The touring band is great and all but they are hired guns for Alice apart from Tommy. And Ezrin never had a second thought about replacing the members of actual bands he was producing with his own guys.

It is not a bad track so I don't mind. I am far more annoyed by the fact that day by day it becomes more likely that we will never hear Fireball with the touring band. I am sure it would rock.
