If Anyone wants to try and do interviews with any of these guys I'm happy to post up the results with the other interviews. Just saying.... :)
And now is a very good time to do it.

I know a guy who writes books on movies and has been trying to pin down two extremely high profile musicians to talk about their work on the soundtrack of a certain film. For months and months it's been a no-no. Absolutely zero progress.

This week they've both agreed to an online interview. Got to pass the time somehow!

By online I mean Skype, Facetime or some similar gizmo.

Being on lockdown I might try and give it a go. There is an email for Podola but I doubt any response. I think I tried via Hitchens on FB a few years back but no response.

I just messaged Mike Pinera on Facebook. Anyone else game to see if we can track down some people?

Ok. Mike Pinera said yes! I will start a thread for a Q & A and Si can add to the interviews.

I've fired off a few requests. Will follow pitkin88's example and start a thread if I get lucky.

I've had my first success! New thread coming up.

Mr Barlow will be pleased.

This, to me, is the most fascinating part of Alice career. Personally I would love to get my hands on a special forces tour t-shirt again. I got a decent version off ebay. I loved the original but that was a medium and there is now Xs in front of my Ls.

I know where you're coming from. I've still got my original but haven't tried to put it on for a long time.

Which brings us to Dada. Alice's masterpiece. For all intents and purposes there were three people involved in making that album. Alice, Wagner and Ezrin. I don't think Alice will ever go into detail about it, Wagner is gone which leaves Ezrin.
Wagner is gone, but he left behind his book, Not Only Women Bleed, and a great episode of the Decibel Geek Podcast that goes deep into DaDa.

I've not had any replies from the other attempts I made to speak to people from this period. I suspect the Mike Pinera and Duane Hitchings interviews will be all we get at this time.

Those two aren't bad ones to get though! And it's great those guys are up for it.

Who else did you reach out to Vince? I even thought to reach out to the producer of I Am The Future! Looks like he is a jazz lounge type singer.

I think there is less known about Zipper than even DaDa.

Craig Kampf and Jan Uvena.

I'm not 100% sure they've seen my requests as there's been no rejection either, but it's been a while now.

The most 'out there' one I tried to track down was the woman credited as directing the Paris TV special, even though she may not have actually directed much at all. The language barrier and the lack of credits for doing anything more recent than 17 years ago made it very difficult indeed.

She could even be deceased for all I know, such was my lack of progress on it.

Now that's a good idea. Would never have thought of that.
How about looking at the SF tour programme. I think that has crew names in it.

That's the exact line of thinking that makes my friend's movie books so thorough and interesting. People in the background can have gone decades without ever being asked about stuff and are often very keen to talk about it.

I'll try and think of some obscure people to approach. Suggestions welcome!

Speaking of wishful thinking I wish they release a clean version of Alice in Paris TV show doing those FTF and SF songs. I know there is a version out but it's poor quality from what I heard from viewers. Hell I've got a VHS bootleg but the quality is very poor.
