For Veronica's Sake
On the few occasions this was performed in the Madhouse Rocks tour, did it involve someone onstage dressed as a dog?
And if not why not?

I'd believe it! They had one of the dancers in what looked like a dog costume (with 2 heads and his own?) during "We're All Crazy".

Re: For Veronica's Sake
This is one of my favourites off From the Inside. I'd like it to be played again, and paired off with "Sunset Babies".
Re: For Veronica's Sake
Stupid song but one of the better ones from that Foster stinker.
Re: For Veronica's Sake
I always wondered if Alice lyrical concept for this song was inspired by McCartney's "Martha My Dear". Also, too bad the dog's name wasn't Christ.
Also if I remember right "Veronica" in the Marvel comic book was changed to a snake.
My least favorite song on the album.

Re: For Veronica's Sake
obscure name for a dog, I've always wondered if it was the name of the dog from the actual inmate or if it's one of Alice's in-jokes?

My least favorite song on the album.

agree with Mr Barlow. Same leaque as Thrill my gorilla imo.
I could somewhere understand that someone of his "inmates" might have that problem with his dog, but lyrically it's a non-AC song to me..Cannot imagine that anyone would say : hey listen to this, that"s Alice Cooper ...

The entire From the Inside album is a masterpiece.
Re: For Veronica's Sake
2nd worst album after ACAS. Horrible hokey bollocks. You could stop at David Foster!

Re: For Veronica's Sake
I love the song and I LOVE From The Inside. Maybe my favorite Coop album.
Re: For Veronica's Sake
The last of the MOR albums, a massive step up from L&W and I rank it just after WTMN from the period. Often think it would have done so much better if released immediately after it as well.
Didn't like How You Gonna See Me much as was getting fed up with the ballads but loved the rest of the album. Veronica"s Sake was never my favourite on the album but still love it.

It sounds very Elton John. Of course there was Bernie, Davey and who know who else from the EJ camp. Try hear Elton singing and playing piano - it would work.

I don't recall any Elton songs about a dog but I do recall one about a Crocodile!

I always puzzle at your hatred for this record. I love it, a strong come back record after the weak L&W. For my tastes, not a bad track on the album. 10 strong songs, great album package and I really like the concert video too. Strong finish to Alice Cooper Phase II

I don't suppose a live version of For Veronica's Sake or Jackknife Johnny ever made it onto a bootleg did they?

Haha. I was talking musically. FVS and Beverly Hills sound a lot like EJ songs.Daggers & Contracts wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 3:40 amSure, it could work maybe he should try it!padre_sliprat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 10:56 pmIt sounds very Elton John. Re: For Veronica's Sake
Exactly and that is why it blows. All those female backing vocals. Bah ba bah ba bah. Cringeworthy along with that shmaltzy production. The whole thing is about as threatening as an episode of Friends.
