Another random voice question

So I was just thinking, on a lot of the recent tours there has been a recorded voice-over in the show that's clearly done by Alice himself, even though it's not supposed to be Alice talking. For example: The executioner on the Dirty Diamonds tour, the raise the dead voice before the covers section and the introduction to the Spend the Night Tour.
Why is that? I just find it kinda silly when it's so obvious it's Alices own voice. If they don't want to hire someone else to do it, why not use the voice of a band member?

The controller was someone else right? Or if that's Alice as well they did a much better job at masking it then.

At least one of the voice overs has was Chuck.
But not really sure what you are asking? Alice does it because he's there to do it. Anyone else could do it, but he has a good voice for it.

Really, which of them was Chuck? They've all sounded like Alice to me (but some artificially deepend)

Must admit, I'm not a 100% sure what I'm asking - I just find it silly when the voice is talking to or about Alice in the third person but it's so obvious it's his own voice.

Maybe I'm just curious why they've never went to route of having an actor record voice overs like they did with Vincent Price for the From the Inside tour.

Chuck did at least one version of the Graveyard into to the Raise The Dead section, although I don`t think it was used fo many gigs before a different one replaced it.

I would guess in answer to why they don`t get an actor to do it is simply money. Why pay when you don`t really need to.

Cool, didn't know that. The one on the DVD is clearly Alice though.

And yeah it probably is a money thing, but in a way I think that might be my problem with it - Alice doing his own voice overs just sound kinda cheap IMO. I'm not saying that they have to get a famous actor to do it, why not use Chuck or Tommy or even Calico, just that I think it's weird that it's Alice playing a different character without really changing his voice.

Is it known who voiced the Controller?

I believe when the controller wasnt Alice, it was Pat...physically and vocally.

Yeah but there's a difference between Alice as a private person talking about the character Alice and Alice in character as some one else talking to Alice.

Ah, cool. But the voice was pre-recorded and he just mimed it right?

Don’t worry, I know what you mean. His intro on the current tour is a bit odd and is basically a recycled version of the Brutal Planet tour, which was well delivered by Pat Novak.

Part of me is surprised that they haven't gotten Johnny Depp to do a voice-over just so they could use it for PR.

It probably wouldn’t be the best PR at the moment

Yeah I know, but the Hollywood Vampires doesn't seem to have suffered much backlash despite Depp being a known abuser.

"If thou dost marry, I’ll give thee this plague for thy dowry. Be thou as chaste as ice, as pure as snow, thou shalt not escape calumny. Get thee to a nunnery, go. Farewell. Or, if thou wilt needs marry, marry a fool, for wise men know well enough what monsters you make of them. To a nunnery, go, and quickly too."

(Hamlet - Act 3 Scene 1)

I think in relation to Depp...

"Out, damned spot!"

Is more relevant

Care to explain why you are quoting Hamlet at me?
