Zipper vinyl jumps
I bought the zipper vinyl through Amazon and there are some jumps. Particularly on zorros ascenr. I got it replaced but there are similar jumps on the replacement! Does anyone else have the same experience??

Sorry, I have a copy, but it's sealed and I don't have a record player anyway ...

Re: Zipper vinyl jumps
I once bought one of the Night Of The Vinyl Dead LP's (Dragontown) and that skipped on my turntable. I got it replaced but that also jumped and the manufacturer said that they tried it before sending out the replacement and that it was fine. No other record that I had jumped and I've since purchased a new turntable and it plays fine.
In summary, weird!
I'll give my new copy of Zipper a play at the weekend.

Re: Zipper vinyl jumps
last time i used a turntable, decades ago, skips were 99% due to the stylus arm/head being too light; my dad's player had a much heavier metal head and anything that wasn't a physical fault played fine on them. maybe try weighting the head w/ a lump of blutac or something as a test?

Or adjust the downforce slightly ( might be safer than blutac )killer wolf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 6:29 amlast time i used a turntable, decades ago, skips were 99% due to the stylus arm/head being too light; my dad's player had a much heavier metal head and anything that wasn't a physical fault played fine on them. maybe try weighting the head w/ a lump of blutac or something as a test?

Re: Zipper vinyl jumps
had no such thing on my cheaper turntable.
Re: Zipper vinyl jumps
I used to tape a quarter above the needle. sometimes it fixed the skip, sometimes it actually 'burned' a sound like a hiss onto the record that stayed on the record forever.
