Has nothing to do with griping about Alice. It has to do with a record industry that complains about how it's dying, and executives who are unhappy, but yet they feed gimmicks and crap to the masses as if everybody is stupid. My comments were based on that. They complain that they are "failing" and blame the consumers for pirating and ruining their business, but yet they spend extra money on pressing colored vinyl over black which ends up costing them money while giving the consumer an inferior product. It's just another sign of how out of touch the industry is, so yea, I'll share my thoughts on it here when it comes up, because I as well as many others share it on forums devoted to vinyl.

Ironically, it seems like some labels (Music On Vinyl being one, I think) initially re-issue on a limited basis on colour vinyl but then press more on black if that number is exceeded. So if black is your thing then it's worth holding on and grabbing a later edition (there is usually a sticker to tell the difference).

I dont think its moaning as such, its a just a statement on how odd it all is, multiple re-issues on vinyl with no new material or distinguishing features other than a snazy colour. I do exactly as you say, if i dont want it i dont buy it, but it doesnt stop me from taking a look around and just getting confused by the whole thing.

I don't see how it is confusing??? Vinyl has made a huge come back. Someone has recognised a market for Alice's records. Most of the originals are between 30 and 40 years old! Many will be lost or scratched of damaged! Here is a great chance to replace them with nice shiny coloured ones! Perhaps a casual buyer will take a chance with them. All good and happy! Enjoy

While I haven't purchased any of these coloured vinyl releases (was tempted by the B$B green vinylbut ultimately took a pass) I don't mind that this is being done - I would just rather have releases like Easy Action's Mar Y Sol record. I could e\really go for a MoL show on vinyl, or a 1970 show even the Underground recording which we already have just not on vinyl. Yeah something like that, on black, brown or any colour of the rainbow, vinyl. Until then, my wallet stays put - but everyone else, please enjoy.
