Has anyone else noticed that the is a part in the song Fields of Regret on Pretties for You, issued 1969, that almost sounds like a precursor to rap music?

not sure are you talking about the "what horror must invade the mind..." part but I would say Dylan's 1965 "Subterranean Homesick Blues" or Zappa's 1966 "Trouble Every Day" would be better examples of protorap

Yes. I mentioned this in another post and it got turned into a post a "link?" debate.

This is a good song. Kinda surprised it doesnt get any play anymore. Thier are good songs on the first 2 albums.
