What was the last stand out album for you by Alice?

W2MN. There's nothing truly wrong with the album for me, but the subsequent tour and implementing covers into the setlist, then the Hollywood Vampires thing...that just turned m off as a fan.

Sadly, it ooks to continue on for the foreseeable future.

I didn't care for the Covers section he has done in recent years either, but that has not been part of the show this year. He is going to be recording a new Hollywood Vampires album in December and Jan. based on what he has said and the Hollywood Vampires will tour some next year.

Stand-out can be defined in relative terms.

The last album I liked by Alice was DD.

The last album I thought was great would be TLT. The comic book helped.

I have high hopes for the new album. Could compete with TLT.

welcome 2 my nightmare (before that brutal planet. I only liked half of eyes, hated dirty diamonds and dislike ACAS more and more each time I hear it - although there is 4 songs I really like on the album, just hate the rest)

There's a lot of harsh stuff written about the more recent albums. I wouldn't describe any of his latest albums as bad but there are negatives. I will always occasionally stick Eyes or DD or W2MN or ACAS. Depends on the mood.
What I will say is the latest album to truly hit the spot is Brutal Planet. Lyrically it's incredible. Musically it creates the Brutality of the planet. Add to the fact the tour was the first time I saw an Alice show...its holds a special place in my heart. Prior to that Last Temptation is probably how I would want an Alice album to sound.

really? the last alice album to stand out was in 1972 but you still post on an alice cooper forum after 40+ years of solo material, none of which has stood out for you. Man that is quite odd.

I mean I really liked Anathema, to the point where one of the albums (judgement) is top 10 albums of all time for me, but they consistently got worse and worse, I stopped going to see them live after a couple of shows and have now given up on buying albums and that is only from 5 albums that don't stand out. There is only so much disappointment you can take.

I mean you do whatever makes you happy I just cant wrap my head around it.

I posted in this thread that the last standout album for me by 'Alice' was MOL in 1973, due to the fact that I've never really been a fan of Alice since he went solo. Re. still posting on an AC Forum after 40+ years of solo material, etc.: I don't know when Dannorama became a fan; for me it was 1982 when I got the Greatest Hits album.

As you should be aware, there has been a lot happening re. the ACG during the past several years, so there's plenty to discuss here regarding the Original Group even though they haven't had a full fledged reunion since the breakup in 1974.

As someone said the main word is 'standout' so for me tlt is the most consistent. Eyes, DD and W2MN all have superb track but just lack consistency to be top drawer. I just don't get the love affair with bp. I occasionally go back to it to see if I'm missing something but it just doesn't work for me. But then plenty on here don't get dada so who knows??

BP has some brilliant stuff on it including the title track, but it also has a few real stinkers which prevent it from reaching the "masterpiece" level in my mind.

TLT, on the other hand, is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish.
