If ACG toured without Alice

Lets say the surviving 3 decided to tour your country (came within 50 miles of your home address) with a replacement lead guitarist of your choice and a replacement for Alice of your choice- would you buy a ticket of say £35 or $42 to see and hear them play a selection of tracks from LITD to MOL and all albums in between-they guarantee an execution. Do you buy a ticket and who would be your lead guitarist and Alice replacement/clone?

I personally wouldn't be interested in that. Just my two cents.

Yes I would definitely go. Probably Ingo? the guy who played on MB's Iceland or the guy playing in that Pretties cover thing. No idea on a vocalist that is the tough one. Also I'd like to hear some Battle Axe stuff.

Choosing a singer is really complicated. I'd hate to see Rob Zombie butchering Alice's vocals, Manson is not up to the work (even though I love his career)...

I'd have some singers in mind, but I doubt they could work many of the songs....

Dee Snider could be the one but still there'd be something missing in there

Since, I asked the question- I would go but I haven't come up with a singer yet- Ian Astbury came to mind as he did a decent job with the Doors (no there wouldn't be a covers section with Doors songs)- Lead guitar- Ingo was a good suggestion, Ryan, Orianthi,Steve Hunter and Billy Duffy would do good jobs...I would buy a ticket...interested in everyone's opinions even if a flat no

I saw the ACG 15 times. Only Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, Glen Buxton and Neal Smith were replaced :rotfl:

I think I would buy the ticket but it would be for me like an AC tribute Show.

I am 30 years old, and I love Alice Cooper since I was 7. But for me he was always a solo artist. I knew that he had a band 15 years before I was born, but I love Love It to death, I love Trash and Hey Stoopid, and I also like BDB, Constrictor, WTMN and Dada etc. I like all of his albums except Lace and Whiskey. If I visit an AC concert I want to hear songs from the last almost 50 years and not only from the first 5 years.

I would definitely go see it, the same as I love going to see Blue Coupe. And one time I even saw Blue Coupe with Michael Bruce guesting for half the show, which was terrific.

I also saw the original band minus Alice at Chiller a few years ago, too... and that was fun.

Personally, I'm surprised they haven't done more of this to be honest, but it's hard to tour without the "name".

No, I wouldn't go. But I've also zero interest in seeing solo AC. Oldies, playing nostalgia tours, don't do anything for me anymore.

For me, i have zero interest.
Maybe i would check it out if the circumstance were right (cheap ticket, weekend and local)
I love nearly all alice except first 2 albums (which were the ACG and i dont want to risk hearing that nonsense) and lace and whiskey and kind of like someone already pointed out, i love trash and hey stoopid as much as i love billion dollar babies and killer seeing just the band is pointless to me - i wouldnt be that interested if alice did just the original group definitely not excited if its without alice!

I'd do it, but I'd be hoping for an appearance from Alice himself. I would probably feel a bit let down if it was just the boys.

I could be interested in that scenario and here's what would help:

- Mick Mashbir or Ingo on lead guitar.
- Man with the Golden Gun and Hallowed be my Name performed live for what I believe would be the very 1st time.
- 2 or 3 Battle Axe songs thrown into the set.
- Little or no theatrics.
- The singer? Hmmm...Dee Snider was suggested above. Or Blackie Lawless (WASP) but although he could likely do songs like School's Out well I don't know about slower songs.

- Marilyn Manson,Sammy Hagar and Rob Zombie were suggested above for singers. Um, no.

I'd go if they have Buckethead on guitar and Bill Crowe taking over Alice's role.

Of course I would go. I am not too bothered who they used as "the replacements", either. I would go a good deal further away to see them, in fact.

I'd definitely go and see them. Would probably prefer an unknown vocalist that could do the songs justice instead of someone famous in their own right who would be more of a distraction than anything else.

I would do the same. However, not because they are a stronger draw than Alice, but simply based on the rarity of the event. Likewise, I made a greater effort to see Blue Coupe, and even Beasto Blanco, for the same reason

Not sure how viable a tour by the ACG would be - given their are still tickets left for this Sundays show - they would have to think carefully about venue size etc - having said that I would probably go
