Plus, once it is released someone will more than likely post it to YouTube & then we'll be able to hear it in it's glorious Lo-Fi quality.Si wrote: I would suggest it's more a "take the money and run" tactic. Once they're gone they're gone, in theory... onto the next. It creates a market for quick sales.
That is if nobody bothers to challenge.
If it does happen & someone here finds the link - please PM me.
I'll be sure to keep it "Private."

I would guess that these "companies" use silver CDR's as well to save money.

not sure who you mean when you say "companies" but that "Nobody Likes Us" cd was a properly pressed disc and is the definitive version of the ridiculously over issued Toronto '69 show. Better sq, a more complete recording, nice artwork with era appropriate photos, no Ronnie Hawkins or Doug Kershaw or whoever the hell that is, and wow, correct song titles. Easy Action put out a quality release, wish they were in charge of all the archival releases.

Good point. It has two shows on there too.

Quite a lot of the time 500 is the standard minimum order for pressing CDs and Vinyl so that might be a factor.pitkin88 wrote:Dannorama wrote:Concolz:

Andy:
Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't - it depends.
Maybe this is a clue as to why there are only 500 copies of this being issued. Is it because a low number like this is not worth a legal response? 'Shady' Action is more like it.
I very much doubt that. I think that 500 physical cd copies might be about the size of a bootleg or grey area release these days. I think they will comfortably sell them. Not sure if the vinyl is 500 copies too. If they could sell more I'm sure they would.

No, it's more cost effective to press onto conventional Cd's using a glass master for quantities of 500 or more. CDR's are only used for quantities of less than 500 by most replication companies.Mr.Bluelegs wrote:I would guess that these "companies" use silver CDR's as well to save money.

From Toronto Bob:
"Would really like to hear complete SO shows and MOL shows."
Did anyone say those would be included? If so, I may have missed that and haven't seen any on any proposed lists that I've seen.

It is the same individual as far as I'm aware.

No. He is saying what he would like to hear.

I understand that but he tied in the statement with the proposed releases which have been discussed, so I wouldn't want anyone to have unrealistic expectations.

Re: Mar Y Sol 1972 album
It is simply a hope, I'm a nobody with no insider information. I am a mere consumer who is stating a desire.
Since most ACG concerts from 1971 through to 1974, had a running duration of under 80 minutes an entire concert set list could be included on 1 disc. Even if a show ran over 80 minutes it would be only just, and with some judicious editing a complete set list could stay intact.
Not sure how my op could be interpreted any other way but there, I've spelled it out so no misunderstanding is possible.

This last post contained far more clarity than the one before, so thanks.

Re: Mar Y Sol 1972 album
You can hear the whole Mar Y Sol album on Google Play Music if you're a subscriber, so it's more than likely on Spotify and Deezer too.
It's not a bad show. Alice is notably drunk on Be My Lover but sobers up (slightly) as the show goes on. Very good version of 18, but some sloppy playing elsewhere. It's worth hearing at least once though.

Re: Mar Y Sol 1972 album
Well, I ordered it along with the "Nobody Likes Us" CD.
Already have the '69 recordings, but will be nice to have it packaged and hopefully better sound.
Looking forward to it
I don't give a rat's who released it. WB or Alice's management could probably have done it, but I guess hardly commercially interesting for them.
I'm just happy that early live recordings are being put on the market.
Hope a gig from every ACG tour will eventually come out.
Anyone here know about a 1970 recording, other than the Chicago Underground and the cuts from Ohio Pop Fest ?

That short piece in Diary of a Mad Housewife and that's all that I'm aware of, as rare as hens teeth.

Thanks TB.
Didn't count the Mad Housew Wife as I don't consider it a gig.
