So, Is Steven Dead Now?

The character of Steven, as first introduced to Sick Things far and wide on Welcome To My Nightmare has been something of a recurring figure in Alice's music and, while nothing can beat his creepy arrival on that fine album, his occasional reappearance has often felt to me like a nod to his long-serving fans (although I felt his return on The Last Temptation was something of a missed opportunity and the story could have worked equally well with some other kid as the protagonist).

With the last studio offering from The Coop, the bonus end track Flatline concludes with a voice saying "Steven". Does this mean he is now no more? And, if so, is this the reason why there hasn't been any new material from Alice since Welcome 2 My Nightmare? Alice's solo career having started at the same time as Steven's, I suppose it makes sense that they should die together.
