I thought this was gonna be about "Stand", which was a bonus track on Dirty Diamonds. Technically not a rap, but the other person that collaborated for the song was definitely rapping.

Great idea!! I will buy an OOP box set to see if you are right about Alice being the Godfather of Rap.

I wish I had that kind of money to blow on command. I can send you a link to a song off Frank Zappa's Civilization Phase lll to help explain something, or you can buy it off eBay for $90. (Free shipping, might I add! :) )

I'm pretty sure just because you can buy a product on ebay or from a second hand seller on amazon does not mean it is not OOP. The band also gets paid for the initial sell to the store, so it's not like buying that album is getting him anymore money. If the product sold out and they ship another batch, he would be paid again, but in this albums case, it is not going to happen and buying the album isn't going to make a difference. It gets deeper than that in technicalities, but the point is that he is not making anymore money off this box set, and the odds are that the album being OOP is only being sold by second hand sellers which definitely does not count towards him making money. So why are we being told to buy the album?

FWIW, the stripped-down, 4-CD Old School box set is apparently still in-print and available from Amazon US for $32.28 (or $42.99 (!) for the MP3 download).

From guttertrash:

The stripped - down version is still in print, I think.

Out Of Print?

Just listened to it and can't say I would consider that any form of rapping.

I assume you are reffering to "What horror must invade the mind When the approaching judge shall find..."
For anyone looking for a link the part of the song referred to is pretty much the same as on any version of the same song on the Freak Out CD.

Stand is a good song although maybe a bit corny.
I don't know if any of the vocals in Sex, Death and Money could maybe be considered close to rap? Probably not.
