Perfect timing! My girlfriend, who is gun crazy, has decided to take up skeet shooting. These will come in handy on her next trip to the range!

Re: Let's Make This Happen
Looks like someone is takin' out the trash and trying to reclaim their life. Good for him, asking price is stoopid but so is having 9 different pressings of the Trash cd. I'll store them for him for $225.
Re: Let's Make This Happen
I've been out of the collecting end of it for sometime so I'm not sure of current market rates on cds. I know vinyl has made an incredible comeback (I sold my collection too soon --retained the Alice stuff though) but I think this guy is WAY off! I looked at his other offerings too--and I think this guy is finding out that he shelled out hundreds--maybe thousands of dollars-- for stuff that is worth just a few bucks.Toronto Bob wrote:Looks like someone is takin' out the trash and trying to reclaim their life. I know Toronto Bob is an expert when it comes to this stuff. Does this stuff have any value or am I correct in my assessment?
Re: Let's Make This Happen
There seems to be barely any difference in the covers to warrant $30 a disc.
Re: Let's Make This Happen
To be honest, if I saw them at a flea market I wouldn't pay more than $2.00 each for them.
To me--collecting this type of stuff is pointless and I consider myself a completist. However, there is a big difference between being a completist and a sucker.

Re: Let's Make This Happen
I am definitely no expert but I believe those are just standard pressings from different countries. Going rate of stock cds I dunno - $5 would be my guess. I would also guess this kind of collecting gets into OCD territory which is why I said looks like the seller is trying to reclaim his life. I know it's difficult to imagine but I'm thinking in about 10 years people will start getting a bit nostalgic for the cd and it will enjoy a temporary revitalization. Not to the extent that vinyl has come back, but something.
CDs would have such more appeal if they came in a 12x12 fold out like a record.

Re: Let's Make This Happen
I certainly like to collect Alice stuff, and do have multiples of certain items, but have always tried to draw a line under the same album in the same format but from a different country (especially CD's). The only exception is if there's something noteworthy (bonus tracks).
That said, I just realised I have 4 versions of Brutal Planet on vinyl

But he has one of the largest video and tape collections in the world.
Re: Let's Make This Happen
I know a guy who has a over MILLION baseball cards. The problem is they are basically worthless. Common crap!
I believe the quality of a collection is much better than the quantity of it.
But..that's my opinion.
P.S. if there are people out there who are so easily seperated from their hard earned money--please send them my way. I'm sure I can find something to sell them!

Have you forgotten the long box?Toronto Bob wrote:

Kept Sgt. Peppers (only one)
Sure, a 12x12 would be an idea that was never used.

Re: Let's Make This Happen
The long box was useless - a proper album cover with gatefold and a cd tray inlay would be just like a record, much more desirable.Daggers & Contracts wrote:Have you forgotten the long box?Toronto Bob wrote:

Re: Let's Make This Happen
The Japanese SHM CDs are cool, always thought they'd be even better if the CD's were made to look like vinyls though.
