A question about 'I Love The Dead'

Post by Paulimo » Sun Apr 10, 2016 9:43 am

Apologies if this has been asked before, as I'm sure it has. But, at about 4.07 in the background, what is being said, and who's saying it? I've never figured it out in 33 years of listening to it on and off.

I've assumed it's a cue from Ezrin or the engineer and it has accidentally leaked onto the vocal track and was missed in the final mix.

Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Nothing to worry about, really. It's just background vocals. "Dang-dang.."
They're more audible on the quadriphonic version.

Really? It sounds as if somebody says, "keep going, keep going."

"Dangadang dingadong ding ding" or similar. Love that when you play it loud.

Its very clear in the 5.1 DVD audio (never heard the quad mix but assume its in the same vein)

I have the BDB DVD-A so should give it a listen.

EDIT: I also have the 'Nice Guys Sleep Alone' 2 LP bootleg which is supposed to be BDB outtakes but is apparently sourced from the Quad. mixes. ILTD is on there so I should listen to that version too.

I always thought it was a bit of an homage to Blue Moon by the Marcels.

From pitkin88:
"I always thought it was a bit of an homage to Blue Moon by the Marcels."

Yes. Dennis Dunaway (quite recently) has more or less confirmed that.

Yes, although I wouldn`t have used the word homage.
I always thought it was just a tongue in cheek bit of fun putting an old school reference into a song like that.
I pictured a scene where they were cracking up making all those background noises and someone just did it and they kept it because it was so funny. :)
