Listen..
I Love The Dead has always been my favorite AC song. Ever. To the point where I want it to be played at my funeral. No kidding!
Whenever someone covers it, to me it sounds like crap. The Samael version was "meh" at best.
I didn't know DD and Blue Coupe were the band behind Andrew WK (by the way, his first album is his best, in my opinion.) So it was a major surprise.
What do I think of this version? Hey, I give it a solid 8.5/10.
As for the Vinyl episode, I freaked out. So many details.. Just great!! The only detail that bothered me (but not much, to be honest) is that, in the ILTD scene, Alice is wearing his Killer/School's Out tours costume, not his B$B tour one. But then again, that's nothing really that important.
Great series, great soundtrack, great ILTD version. And moreover, Dustin Ingram kills it. Even Alice's laugh he nailed!!!
Love it.

Yeah he got the laugh spot on, and clearly watched a lot of interviews (or someone did) because he picked up on his end of sentence straight, ya know.philouze wrote:Even Alice's laugh he nailed!!!

Exactly. The kid did great from start to finish. Actually, he "sings" the first verse in the series, and sounds more Cooper-ish than Andrew WK.rgallie wrote:Yeah he got the laugh spot on, and clearly watched a lot of interviews (or someone did) because he picked up on his end of sentence straight, ya know.
I mean.. Even the "Give my best to your boss" is Dead On.
That is probably my favorite "TV series moment" since the ending of Breaking Bad. Per-freakin'-fect!

ooops meant end of sentence trait, not straight!

It's available to watch on Now TV in the UK if you sign up for a subscription.
I quite enjoyed it, thought the guy playing Alice was pretty convincing.

I'm enjoying the series. I know it's not always based on fact but it is an enjoyable watch. I thought the portrayal of Alice was very good. Still think the cover version of I Love The Dead was just ok, but that doesn't mean I think it was bad. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I finally got round to watching the Alice episode at the weekend. It was all good fun although I did laugh at them making reference to Storm Troopers several years before Star Wars even existed

I don't remember the reference, but "stormtrooper" did not originate with Star Wars. Stormtroopers were specialist members of the German army during World War I.
