Thanks for lyrics Pitkin. When reading down them I must say I wasn't impressed and then was relieved to see Alice's name wasn't at the bottom. You never know it might sound ok with a good tune. Here's hoping.

The Who's original 'I'm A Boy' was a pop nugget; this is a turgid metal nothingness. As for '7&7 Is', I thought Alice's '80s version easily bettered the original, with its tight, punky snarl; this is just bluster. Worst of the lot is 'Bad As I Am' - lyrics by a thirteen year old; music courtesy of 'hair metal for dummies'.

It's all mutton dressed as lamb, 'last rock and roll gang in town' nonsense.

Only listened to the 1 minute 30 previews on ITunes so probably not a fair review but I have to say I'm a Boy doesn't hit home. Don't think it works well at all. Not a nice sound.
Seven and Seven seems okay but as already mentioned there's already a decent version of this by Alice.
As for Bad As I Am, it's okay. Wouldn't go mad for it. It just seems like whenever Alice comes away from character the hard rock prevails over the dark Alice side and Alice loses that edge of nastiness. Nowhere near as good as My Dead Drunk Friends and Raise The Dead.

There was me thinking I'd be £2.97 worse off today but I reckon I might save those pennies.

I'm a boy is okay, but not so interesting. Seven and Seven is also okay, but I love the Special forces version. It's the same like the song I got a line on you. Both of them had a cover version from Alice earlier, and both of them were good.
As bad as I am is a very good song IMHO. I love it. Better then I still be there, but not as good as Under the bed. The sound could be a little clearer.

Bad As I Am is easily the best of the three. It has an awful drum sound though. Does anyone know the line up on this? Good song and very catchy.

7 & 7 is redundant. I like the lyric change in I'm A Boy and Alice's vocal is good but the awful drumming and music lets it down.

Yes, I believe that's true. He performed the song live with the Vampires at Rock in Rio last year.

Useless leftovers from an already useless album in my opinion. Sorry, I don't hold the approach that I should be happy with and appreciate bad music from my heroes. Slayer shouldn't have recorded after 1990. Guns N' Roses after 1991. Kiss after 1977. I do not need or respect them for continuously putting out new subpar music. Alice has stuck with it and made some great albums over the years (much longer than any of my other favorites), but these last three albums have proven to me that his well has run dry creatively. It is time for him to focus on playing the songs that made him who he is, because anything new that he writes and puts in the set is taking away from a much better song from the years that he mattered.

Well there is not much new stuff he puts in his sets. I think we get 4 good tracks an album now ( apart from ACAS which had none ) so if he would just stick to eps..
