One Date Only

Post by kevinuk81 » Wed Nov 11, 2015 11:18 am

As posted on the news page, (Go and have a look) Alice is appearing only once in the UK next year, hopefully this means recording a new album and touring throughout 2017.
Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

I was really hoping for a proper UK-wide headline tour in 2016 (by then it will be 4 years since he last did this).

As stated before, I suppose this kind of thing makes perfect sense for him so it's hard to be critical, despite my personal dissapointment.

Let's see what the ticket prices are...

Bare in mind (and I have no inside info about this case) there have been festival announcements before about "only UK Show", only for more dates to announced AFTER the festival takes place. Just saying...

Well you live in hope Si, but then I can't believe Alice would say something and then do the complete opposite! ;)

To be fair I noticed those comments and take what was said as a pinch of salt.

I also recall Alice saying a couple of weeks ago that it had been too long without a UK tour and hinted at one next year.

I'm guessing tickets will be £175-£200 for the weekend. Not really digging Rick Wakeman. Sounds like a snoozefest. Blackberry Smoke will be good though. I just hope they can pull out a few bands in the mould of the Quireboys or Thunder to beef up the rock n roll.

I really hope not!! Can`t see they would sell out the O2 at such high prices.

I seem to remember Knebworth 2010 being the only uk date and then after the Roundhouse shows turned up

not sure having it the week after Dowload will be good for some people's pockets! that's about £80 a day, if it's of any relevance to potential prices.

I've just noticed day tickets will be available which is a welcome relief. I thought it was going to be Cropredy all over again.

PlanetRock tickets go on sale on the 18th. I can`t see this will sell out quickly though to be honest. The O2 is HUGE.

If Download is £80 I would expect this will be closer to £60 at most. I do find it worrying that nowhere is listing prices... but with Download etc at around the same time I think they would be slitting their own throats if the price it too high.

This seems to be more like the old High Voltage festivals from a few years ago where there is some attempt to keep prices reasonable and offer value for money. I hope so at least.

I find it strange that there is no price listing as of yet. Is it that they are still negotiating deals with other bands to weigh up what to charge? They are probably looking at it from a perspective of well if we charge an extra £15 per ticket we could afford these guys that would enable us to sell more tickets etc. etc.
