Looks that way...tracks one, two, and fourteen...I had hoped that Raise the Dead would make its way as a title on here considering how prominent its been for a long time in the touring world.

Odd that there are two Matallica songs on there and why I Got A Line On You when he has already covered and School's Out too? The only cover from here I am really interested in is Itchycoo Park.

What Metallica songs?
But yeah, the inclusion I Got A Line On You and School's Out was surprising.

I;m guessing any expanded version might have Foxy Lady, Revolution, I Can See For Miles as bonus cuts.

"One" is a Harry Nilsson song, NOT the Metallica song.
Definitely a couple of songs that are out of left field. One song I would LOVE to hear Alice cover is "Brown Sugar" though!

They are both Nilsson songs.

I'm guessing SO is on there for Glen.

I'd got a strong hunch that 'Cold Turkey' would be on; hope it's a really primal, visceral, gut-wrenching classic, that out-Lennon's the original.

Best cover version I've ever heard of 'Whole Lotta Love' is by Ike and Tina Turner - miles better than LZ's - and it'll be interesting to see how much OOOMPH Alice gives that!

I can understand some of the 'RTD' covers being present, and even 'SO', but 'I Got A Line On You', again?!! Perhaps it's a typo, and should read 'I Got A Line FOR You'. LOL!

I really, REALLY hope the record's a raw, gritty, stripped-back affair, with touches of confessional angst - the spirit of 'Killer' and 'Dada' combined! Please, please, please don't let Motley Crue be on it!!

This could either be great or big disappointment, I mean how can anybody match 'Come And Get It'? It took a special band like Badfinger to take a Paul McCartney song and make his demo sound second best. Tom Evans and Pete Ham of Badfinger who wrote probably the greatest ballad in history ('Without You' ironically made famous by a dead drunk friend Harry Nilsson) both later commited suicide over royalty disputes.

One argument about doing mainly a covers album, is that Alice is never going to make an album as good as what he did with the original band or as a solo act from his 1970's heyday, so why not record songs from the golden age of songwriting of the sixties and seventies era.

I hope I'm surprised but I'll probably be disappointed.

That's true, but it's kind of funny that Metallica have a songs called One and also Jump In The Fire!

. The Last Vampire
2. Raise the Dead
3. My Generation 3.18
4. Whole lotta love 5.35
5. I got a line on you 2.42
6. Five to one/Break on through 4.27 2.25
7. One/Jump into the fire 2.25 7.03
8. Come and get it 2.22
9. Jeepster 4.15
10. Cold turkey 5.09
11. Manic depression 3.30
12. Itchycoo park 2.52
13. School's Out/Another Brick in the wall 3.29 ?
14. My Dead Drunk Friends

Just listening to the songs I am not familiar with on YT and decided to write down the times of the originals. I am guessing this album could run 40 mins plus. Not sure what can possibly added to tracks 3 4 6 9 10 and 13. The Nilsson stuff holds the most promise.

Glad he has a few new originals. For me, none of the covers are obscure enough to "feel" like an Alice song. e.g.- Clones, Ubangi Stomp, Sun Arise, etc... It will be nice to hear it but I'll play the disc a few times & it will probably be shelved. Now just get Ezrin, Mike, Dennis, Neal, & Steve H. and put out the album we've been waiting decades for.

Alice covered My Generation on the BP tour.

Glad he's finally getting this out and it's got a few new tracks...it's been almost four years since W2MN.

Never knew he was drinking buddies with John Bonham and thankfully he's not doing "Foxey Lady" by Hendrix ..."Manic Depression" is a great tune.

And let's tip the hat to Daggers and Contracts who correctly surmised that "Jump Into The Fire" would be on here  !

I'm actually more excited for this album than I thought I would be.

There were hints by Alice of a T-Rex song and I was thinking 20th Century Boy as it had been covered by the band minus Alice at an after show video which is on YouTube. Really excited to hear Jeepster by Alice.

Cold Turkey whenever I heard this track always yelled at me 'Alice track'. Dirty guitars and gnarly vocals. I reckon Alice will own this one.

The other intriguing one will be Itchycoo Park.

There's a couple of uninspiring ones on here namely the Schools Out/Brick in the Wall track which works great live but I'm not sure we needed a studio version of it.
The other one I'm not overly fussed about is the Whole Lotta Love. Never been a massive Zeppelin fan (even though Planty is a massive Wolves fan).

Good to see we get three new tracks as well. I don't think it's ever going to be a classic Alice album but it's something unique. I just hope that whatever the tour that follows this is kept short and we can see a brand new Alice show in a year. (Was hoping for another new album but I reckon this would be too much to ask)

Kinda disappointed there's no Monkees track here considering Micky Dolenz was in the Vampires.

That would have upped the fun quotient for sure.
