It's a tribute to his drinking friends, the Hollywood Vampires, not his influences. And Micky Dolenz was part of that group.

Well the order form that I got the tracklisting from had the following description and list of guest stars (don't know if its a complete list or not):

"Decades after Alice Cooper presided over the Lair of the Hollywood Vampires, the rocker has revived the moniker for his new supergroup with actor Johnny Depp and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry."

Other artists include Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson, Kip Winger.

Like Paul said, Micky Dolenz is still touring and his voice still sounds great. He was also a creative drummer, not great technically, but did a nice job on The Monkees' songs he played on. Maybe he will appear on Alice's album, who knows?

I'm sure Beavis and Butthead will be happy with the return of Kip Winger.

So many players hardly ever bodes well as you don't get a uniform band sound. At present there are at least 13 if we include Neal and Dennis.

Did he play on any of the hits?

Presumably the 'jaw-dropping' list is still to come, because, Paul McC aside, this reads like a rollcall of second-rate has been, never were, journeymen. Brian 'squealer' Johnson - the man who single handedly turned AC/DC into their own tribute act; Kip Winger has hair-metal stamped through him like a stick of Blackpool rock; Slash (and Matt Sorum)/Dave Grohl are soulless, stadium rock posers.

My hopes for the spirit of 'Killer' meets 'Dada' look pretty doubtful; most of that list is 'Constrictor' meets 'Trash'.

I do like Robbie Kriegers playing and he still plays well. He really doesnt sound like anyone else. Non of the others float my boat. Joe Walsh is a nice choice though. I could see him playing on Nillsons Jump.

No. It's a tribute to his 'dead drunk friends'.

Micky played on the entire Headquarters LP & sparingly afterwards. The biggest hit he played on was "Cuddly Toy". Here's the band live in Salt Lake City taken from their movie Head.

Sad.

Sadder.

I like that song a lot. Great clip. Micky is ok here but as for playing with Zappa...

Interesting that the covers are split evenly at seven a piece for the UK and US.

The Sixties shade the Seventies nine to five.

Sixty Nine is the most popular year.

Seven of the lead singers are dead.

Given the title and influence, that's not surprising.

I remember Alice saying that they have been recording some shows to select the best cut for the album, perhaps this is one of them. I hope so, as it works well live.
I'm actually looking forward to that one the most, especially if it's a studio version.

Jesus! what category are you putting Joe Walsh and Robbie Kreiger in? Second rate has beens?!

Slash soulless, just because he plays stadiums?!
Would hardly call his solos on things like November Rain, Welcome To The Jungle and Sweet Child O Mine as soulless.

I thought I might be disappointed in the album but the line up looks good hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised, but gotta give it a chance, Joe Walsh a major coup!

That's true, but it's kind of funny that Metallica have a songs called One and also Jump In The Fire!
That is a funny coincidence
