15 disc boxset coming out. Alice Cooper 1969-1983

The box contains 15 CDs – one for each album – starting with 1969’s Pretties For You and ending with DaDa from 1983. This will be a clamshell box with the CDs in card sleeves with original artwork reproduced.

Ok im stupid whats a (cab) box set look like??

Is just 15 cds in seperate paper casing like a vinal sleeve had?

Is their any reason to buy this since i just got the jeweled cases?

Essentially, I think you are right.

It sounds like all the Alice Cooper albums to 1983 in simple card sleeves, which are then packaged in a glossy box. Similar to the 'Original Album Series' release that covered the first 5 group albums.

Hardly essential if you already own them in jewel format but a good opportunity if not as it works out at about £3 per album.

I'll try and check it out in a store when it comes out to see if there is more to it than that.

Ironically, you could probably argue that much of the story is not really him either :-)

Well, it's certainly going to be handy to have so many albums easily to hand.

Just a shame they didn't do a bit more with the concept. I guess, in some ways, the frugal nature of the release sums up many of the albums themselves.

Received the set today. Nicely presented, all Cd's made to look like vinyl replicas. Many of them gatefold which is nice.

Haven't had a chance to listen to any yet.

Got mine today. Have to say that I am quite happy. Nice vinyl replicas, some with lyric sheet, and B$B even comes with the Dollar bill. Well worth the money

Just noticed that 'love it to death' comes with the original Cover where the thumb is sticking out. Nice.

A little trivia: On Alice's radio show a few months ago someone emailed Alice asking about the thumb on the cover. Alice mentioned that he wasn't trying to be provocative or intentionally sticking his thumb out to make that appearance. Instead, he was trying to hold the cape (or whatever it is) up and his thumb just happened to be sticking out.

I don't know as I never owned one of those. The packaging is actually pretty nice. Many of them include replica lyric inners.

Seems strange that if these were the miniLP's, it's not particularly marketed as such - there's no mention of the audio being remastered. Any notable difference between the albums available as miniLP and the last few albums?

Amazon have no info; Rhino just say "no new remastering", whilst a couple of people on the Steve Hoffman Forum (who've apparently bought the boxset) give contradictory statements: that they're all the bog standard WB masters OR that, up to 'FTI' (minus 'PFY' & 'WTMN'!), they're the 2011 Japanese remasters. Well, they can't be both!! (There's also a very negative review, on Amazon US, regarding the mastering.)

Just found this, from a US mail order site:-

All of the albums are from the 2011 Japanese remasters with the exception of Pretties For You, Welcome To My Nightmare, Flush The Fashion, Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin, and DaDa.

So, how come they know, when no other sellers seem to?! And why wouldn't 'PFY'/'WTMN', be remastered? (Perhaps one of the STs, who've already bought this, could enlighten us!)
