Why wasnt the cyclops used more?

I just saw a repost of the new Cyclops costume. I really wondered why it went away and if Alice is just holding on to it to use it in a different way at some point. Any Ideas, Or anyone in the know?

My guess would be that it was time to move on to something new. Alice always liked to keep things fresh--take something away and add something new.

You mean the new cyclops that showed up in 2010? I'd forgotten about that. I don't know why it wasn't used more but didn't FrankenAlice show up a year later or so? That might be a reason, that they simply had a new monster to use instead.

Yes I am speaking of the new Cyclops costume. I cant remember for the life of me if the frankenstien was being used or not. I only seen pictures of it. Does anybody here know when it was used and what song it showed up in? It seems interesting that it was never seen again.

It appeared in "Feed My Frankenstein" on the 2010 leg of the "Theatre Of Death" tour.

I would love the Cyclops back......an ode to Ray Harryhausen, who just passed away not too long ago.

The "new" Cyclops came along as an attempt to bring it back, but the suit was difficult to maneuver and was constantly breaking and impossible to move in. In the old days the cyclops was able to lift Alice, which would be impossible in the new suit. The Frankenstein came about shortly afterwards when Distortions Ltd contacted us about their show Making Monsters. They offered to create a prop for Alice, as they had done in the past, and feature the prop and process on the show. SO, that's why they came about around the same time. Though when the cyclops was ditched we hadn't yet planned on something to replace it. Frank just worked out timing wise! I will say the Frankenstein is SO much easier to maneuver and see out of. Plus if you weren't careful in the cyclops you could easily suffocate.

I love both the cyclops and Frankenstein but i would love to get a new monster and a new show.

No matter how many times i watch nightmare it is still the biggest highlight for me those screens were a great idea

I don't think this will happen, at least in the US, where he often plays small venues. There wouldn't be much room for it. It could work great in a festival setting especially with the technology of today.

That's a valid point. I'm sure most of the stages would be big enough for the actual screen, but with smaller stages there may not be the space in front of the screen (stage depth) to make it work effectively.

Actually, that isn't correct. In outdoor venues, there is no guarantee you will be able to place it in exactly the right position and also there may be issues with natural light as well.

they used it at Whitley Bay on the HS tour and it looked awesome, that's not the world's biggest venue.
