Just wondering if anyone has heard the Smile Away cover from the McCartney tribute album

Not yey and I'm m DYING to hear it. I Love that song and in Alice voice it should be even better

It's pretty good. I wasn't thrilled with "Eleanor Rigby" being that he sang it word for word, note for note. I wanted those little Alice changes otherwise what's the point? I might as well listen to the original. I love Alice's versions of "Because" and "Hey Bulldog".

There was a LOT of fuzz among the Macca fans that the tribute album was just a perfect copy of the originals.
Maybe that was purpose??

THAT WAS the purpose. It was to honor Macca, the music was provided by Paul's band, The voices are the important thing and I WANT TO HEAR THAT SONG!!!!

Musically, it's pretty spot on with Alice's vocal being the major differentiator.

He sings it more in his 'gruff' voice and there's a bit of his personality in there unlike with "Eleanor Rigby".

Pretty forgettable though. I really hope the covers on the covers album are more interesting.

Both of the McCartney songs suffer from too much melodyne/vocal tuning in my opinion.
