Which Alice Songs Does Your Radio Station Still Play?

Post by cooperrocks » Mon Dec 15, 2014 3:05 pm

I think we can all agree that corporate radio is basically a joke these days. It is all so corporate and most classic rock radio stations have shortened their playlist greatly. Another user posted hearing "Hey Bulldog" on one of their radio stations, so it made me think about radio in general. Which Alice songs do you still hear on the radio in your area? In my area, they don't play a ton of Alice anymore. You still occasionally hear "Eighteen" and "School's Out" but that is about it. I hear "No More Mister Nice Guy" every now and then and "Welcome To My Nightmare" around Halloween. "Poison" is played on an 80's hairband show we have every now and then but that is about it.

That was me who heard Hey Bulldog, it was on Planet Rock, Alice is one of the presenters, so I suppose they play his music on the station for that reason, don't listen to any other radio stations.
Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

Well local radio, I will hear school's out, eighteen, no more mr nice guy, billion dollar babies...

When Alice is in town, I have heard Is It My Body, Poison, Welcome to my nightmare, and even I'll Bite Your Face Off...

When I had my Sirius subscription...on Hair Nation, I would hear House of Fire, Poison, Freedom, Teenage Frankenstein, Hey Stoopid, Love is Loaded Gun, and Feed My Frankenstein

None - I listen to CBC almost entirely, I gave up on corporate rock radio about 15 years ago. Occasionally I'll turn to my old Q-107 and lo and behold I hear Won't Get Fooled Again or maybe Tom Sawyer or maybe Black Dog or maybe Wish You Were Here or maybe... You get the point. I love all that music but I have it in my collection and can listen to it any time I want. Instead I will listen to Jazz radio for music - because I know almost nothing in their playlist, so it all sounds fresh and new.

off my soap box

Now to the op point. My old classic rock station used to favour Under My Wheels, 18 and NMMNG with the occasional spin of BODF on "Psychedelic Sunday".

I visited Slovenia last year and while I was there I heard quite a few AC songs on the radio. From The Inside was played quite alot and one station played He's Back and I Never Cry. I have no idea if these songs were hits over there?

I heard Poison the last time I was in a strip club.

CBC for me, as well. Other than 790 CJCA (60s and 70s classic country), I enjoy the eclectic offerings of CBC, especially the Big Band specials.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

What other songs did you pick for your routine?

I was once interviewd on a radio station in Reykjavik and chose 'how you gonna see me one' and 'I never cry' and they got a great response.

Hmmm. I would have pegged you for a 'Burden In My Hand' from Soundgarden kind of guy.
