One tour you could revisit......

Post by bigbradwolf » Fri Nov 14, 2014 12:17 am

As a relatively young Alice fan I'm asking the question. One Alice tour you could see (whether you already saw the show or like myself would love to re-visit a particular tour that you never had chance to see) what would that tour be?

I'm guessing most people will say B$B/Schools Out/Killer.

I'm going for the Hey Stoopid tour.

Saw that tour with the failed Operation Rock 'n' Roll you can find some of that on YouTube broadcast on "In Concert" - nice stage set & good setlist but as my 2nd AC show was not as exciting as the 1st time :/

That I've seen: Trashes The World
That I haven't seen: RYFAY (Live In The Flesh) tour or the Brutal Planet tour.
If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...

The gig at the Glasgow Apollo in November 1972 is the one I always wished I could have been at.

Saw Alice for the first time on The Nightmare Returns tour. Still my favorite that I've seen from him.
If I could revisit, it would be 1972 and 1975.

Out of all the ones I've seen I would have to say The Gruesome Twosome tour with Rob Zombie.

And for the ones I haven't seen, The RYFAY (Live In The Flesh) tour.

I've seen Alice live from the '70's through the 00's. Favorite being Madhouse Rock tour. I always felt the Goes to a Hell tour would have been incredible had it not been cancelled. The theatrics would have been really interesting including the "levels" that were planned for the stage.

Must also add that the Special Forces show was intense. Great band & Alice was over the top with his look & performance. He always said that the Nightmare Returns tour showed a different Alice who was not a "victim", but the SF tour displayed this notion, too. His image was a confident, cocky, & in-total-control master. NR was a great tour, too where he really seemed revitalized.

I would love to see the Killer Show only because I'd love to see the original band and plus I'm partial to seeing the gallows execution. I seen it on the Raise Your Fist & Yell In Your Flesh Tour and that was actually a neat show with Alice slitting the throat of the Prostitute( It was like seeing a horror movie on stage!) I also loved the show a few years ago where Alice was executed 4 times.I did see the Special Forces tour which was definitely interesting

Of all the tours I've seen I think RYFAY was a really good one.

If I could fire up the ole time machine probably November of 1972

Heard a bootleg of this show and it was great even if you had to crank it to hear it well.
Would love to have seen any of the 70's/early 80's tours as I missed them.
For the tours I did see, would loved to see the DRAGONTOWN show again-saw two shows one year apart and lots of differences-both killer shows even if the album wasn't that great.

I'd love to re-visit the 1997 London Astoria show and also the 100 club show a few years ago.

As for tours I never saw, i'd love to have seen the Killer tour and also the Special Forces one.

Any tour I would like to of seen, would of been if we could of had a ACAS or WTMN2 album based tour
And any future tour that takes a visit to DADA

Dragontown @ Halloween is still one of my all time Faves - seats so close you could see 'em sweat!

This is an easy one for me...Live in the Flesh tour aka Raise Your Fist and Yell...just seeing the unofficial footage and hearing those songs (Freedom, Prince of Darkness, the trilogy) would be amazing to see...

Welcome To My Nightmare - Liverpool Empire 1975.
I was only 11 and my sister (who was 20) refused to take me because she has a phobia of snakes. Alice didn't have the snake on that tour. :-(

Of the shows I have not seen I would pick Killer show with gallows. Of the ones I have seen I would probably pick Brutal Planet at the Hammersmith Odeon and actually be there for encore and My Generation-had to leave for train back to Norwich! Honourable mentions for every Alice gig I have attended from SF Glasgow onwards-all good. I have realised it is difficult to judge one Alice show against another as like many others probably I have seen him in a few UK venues and that alone adds to the experience.

The Dada tour was incredible. I loved how the stage set was designed around a haunted house and Alice would sing to the weirdo that lived in the attic while standing in the family grave. Shame that show was never filmed.
