I guess Alice won't be including Sun Arise in the set
Rolf Harris found guilty
months before he was arrested I was filming at Abbey Road studios with the BBC for a music doc I'm advisor on and I was told some shocking stuff by a BBC guy about Harris.
Should Alice ever play the song live again?

Lead guitar on Social Debris. Album on iTunes, Amazon & Spotify, title track featured on TV

BBC seemed to have a a little nest of rodents. He can rot in hell along with the evil and pathetic Jimmy Savile

Well he just played a Chuck Berry song. Stupid post so you can let people know what you are working on.

Never liked the song much anyway. By far the weakest on LITD.
But if I did, I would still like to hear it at the shows.
Even if the guy's an asshole, it doesn't make the song any different.
Don't know what he did (but can imagine).
The Coopers took the song without knowing anyting about this, I'm sure.

I agree...personally I like the song. if we deep sixed every song that had a moral judgment attached we'd be left with barry manilow and Donny Osmond songs only.
Re: I guess Alice won't be including Sun Arise in the set
I used to put a CD player in the middle of my kids bedroom in the morning and play this song really loud while dancing round to get em up for school. No wonder they're scarred for life!

Well Barry Manilow did start by playing piano in a male brothel.scotty wrote:I agree...personally I like the song. if we deep sixed every song that had a moral judgment attached we'd be left with barry manilow and Donny Osmond songs only.

Well it's not like this is a regular song in the set Evil Syd. Who knows when it was played last.

But he didn't even " WRITE THE SONGS" that he's singing about ......
And he struggled to negotiate the art of walking on TV recently ....
Quite often musicians "distance" themselves from a song if the artist turns out to a bit , well , you know .............
I remember the wonderful band the 10,000 MANIACS removed CAT STEVENS' track "Peace Train" from their masterpiece "IN MY TRIBE" , just because Mr CAT was quite happy to see Salman Rushdie have his testicles removed ......Well , it was something like that .........They also STOPPED playing the song LIVE .......
When was the last time ALICE played it live ??
Will ALICE stop playing SUN-ARISE live ???
Maybe , but iv'e always loved the record , and I probably always will ......

Re: I guess Alice won't be including Sun Arise in the set
A quick Google on the BBC :
Veteran entertainer Rolf Harris has been found guilty of 12 counts of indecently assaulting four girls in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
So the man is an asshole and should be in jail.
I always liked the song and this will not change.
