>The question is does he even want to.

If you listen to the interview in the link, it's clear he likes those songs and he's always said those are among two of his favourite songs. Again, it isn't a case only of what he 'wants'.

>Does even listen to them or even care to

I don't understand the relevance of this.

I asked earlier but have not seen a answer. Maybe nobody knows. Does Alice currently have a record label behind him ? I'm thinking maybe not. Which might explain the delay in the release of a album that is done and the suggested release of a song or two in stages before the release of a full album.

I'm looking forward to this. Vince seems pretty passionate about that era, and seems to have fun with cover versions.. I actually expect this to be pretty good..

Boy am I ever excited to hear this jaw-dropping line-up. That Alice really is an old master at being able to drum up excitement. And how do we know it's jaw-dropping? Because Alice said so - take that to the bank.

My guess is that he has some old multi-tracks of him playing along side Lennon and then got Ringo/Paul and George to sit in. That's jaw-dropping for sure. Can't wait!!!

I've just been scolded by two people for calling Alice "Vince". Had no idea this was an issue.. Did not mean any disrespect..

I don't think I was scolding you - I just wondered why you would call him that. I see or hear it happen now and again (as does Alice) and it's just a weird thing to do unless there's an agenda (and I'm not saying you have an agenda).

No hidden agenda.. Sorry if you assumed I was referring to you with the scolding - 2 on another thread where I used "vince" instead of Alice.. Saw you mentioned it as well, and figured it's frowned on.. Not trying to flame anything..

Just trying to say that I was looking forward to the Covers project..

I hate to break it to you, but George is dead.

No problem at all - don't worry about it.

I know what you mean about a covers album. Who in their right minds would choose a covers album over an album of original material from their favourite artist/band? But it all depends how it's done. And don't forget, there will be five or six original tracks, which makes it a bit more interesting.

well, the thing is this-new songs don't just pop out of the sky. maybe now was the right time for a covers album due to lack of new material. some of the biggest hits in the history of music were remakes, maybe alice sees a nice bit of success with this album. you never know, maybe this won't even be his last covers album. point is we must roll with the punches here!

Alice seems to do a pretty good job as far as cover versions go, I'm surprised there's a bit of eye rolling with this project. I really liked his version of "Break on Through" performed with Robby K when he was on tour - I'm really hoping that's on there. I liked his vocal performance of Start me Up better then Jagger's when he did it with Roger Daltery. If he picks the right material, I think this is going to be very good.. My only fear is that he hung out with Micky Dolenz, and there's going to be an odd Monkees cover.. Really looking forward to seeing which TREX song he may do..

T-Rex song: my vote goes for 20th century man

Alice said that there would be guest singers
He's been hanging out with Marilyn Manson
The show at NAMM where Manson played with part of Alice's band he sang 20th century man even though that song or artist has never been part of Manson's material.

I Think that song will be the chosen one and MM will be the special guest

No such song, do you mean 20th Century Boy?
Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

If he could turn Hello Hooray around the way he did for the Billion Dollar Babies album, who says he can't do that with other songs? Sure some are practically mastered... but whose to say a cover couldn't be just as amazing?
