Devon wrote:It seems like a few people around the interwebs are hanging their hats on to some wide release in theaters or something. These documentaries are usually intended to be released on DVD/BluRay. The theater screenings are usually something like a one night only limited engagement in select cities, usually as a means to ramp up support for the DVD/Blu Ray release. That's how it was done with Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage and Iron Maiden: Flight 666. So no, don't expect "Super Duper Alice Cooper 3D" or "Super Duper Alice Cooper: The Imax Experience" or people breaking down barricades to the midnight screening of "Super Duper Alice Cooper."
I hadn't thought of that possibility. There have been a lot of satellite screenings tied in with live red carpet events, complete with limited edition on the night merchandise, so I wouldn't be too surprised. It would also suit the style of the Coop.
They could approach it any number of ways though.

hey so I'm an "enterprising Sickthing". I could not believe it when at about 3.50am on Feb 16th on a google video search for Super Duper Alice Cooper the Vimeo link came up. What was even more surprising is that it had been up since February 8th and no one had seen it other than the Banger crew so you bet I posted it all over the Alice Cooper Facebook pages and on here that stuff is too good to hide. Congratulations to DJ Hans for the fantastic trailer and the shorter edit was necessary as 2 mins is too long in the commercial world. Now can everyone stop going on about coke conspiracies and moaning and just look forward to the film.

Hi all. Just popped back to have a look what was being said about 'Super Duper' and find the discussion very interesting.
When I saw the original trailer, I thought I saw the reflection of Bernie Taupin in the clip re Cocaine!?
Re Cocaine: I've always thought that IF Cooper did this, then it was as a substitute for alcohol, and that he got much more involved with it in from, say, 1978 to 1984. That's just my opinion, I have my reasons for thinking this.
It will be intersting to see if the film shows me to be correct actually.

His presence onstage from Madhouse Rock to Special Forces was totally different than in the past. He was wired, almost manic. The alcohol buzz seemed to be replaced by or aided by something else. That's my vantage point and I'm making no judgments about it. It's hardly a shock that a rock star would be involved with substances.

Am I right in thinking there is just one showing at each venue. Would have to be the night I'm in work.

I'm guessing so. I doubt there is a big enough market for more then one.

Looks that way from the cinema nearest to where I am.

Anyone heard of any dates in ANY part of Ireland?
Cinema dates "throughout " the UK!!!!!
Except that once again Northern Ireland miss out. Just have to wait for the DVD.

There are several new (to me) videos on Vimeo: three versions of the trailer, and three "shout outs" from Alice.

I'm really looking forward to this. Someone I know claims to have seen a preview and was raving about it.
