"The package will be issued in a deluxe digipak, with 16 page booklet featuring an extensive essay and rare
memorabilia"

sigh. can't stress how much i loathe goddamn digipacks. i take it "containing rare memorabilia" means pictures of it, which is not real exciting. i'd've preferred something like a 4th comic issue, w/ a load of features and design sketches etc.

Why don't you like them out of interest?

This one certinaly looks (even) less appealing than the Hey Stoopid or Trash re-issues. It's a shame that something a bit more exciting couldn't be offered but that subject's been done to death on here already.

Maybe, if nothing else, a re-issue might bring more interest in a sadly overlooked extremely awesome release.

@ wind-up-toy

cos they're cheap and awful. you either get the ones that have the plastic insert glued to one inner bit, in which case when the holding teeth break off (as they always seem to do) you can't swap out the holder w/out ruining it, or you get the all-carboard ones where the disc is jammed in a usually-tight-fitting envelope, thereby both (a) making you put fingerprints all on the disc when you try and pull it out, and/or (b) constantly wear at the top and bottom of the envelope each time you put the disc in our out.
i far prefer jewel cases that look better, stack better and are easily mended by swapping out a lid or inner etc if something wears out or gets damaged. for the jewels too, you can get the inner booklet autographed and have it on display through the plastic : on a digi, either the ink's on the front and prone to be worn off, or on the booklet and out of sight, or prone to be worn each time you take the thing out to look at it.

At the risk of sounding momus, I would think a graphic novel combining the comic books and perhaps a vinyl pressing with a download code would have greater appeal.

I'm always looking for bonus or alternate tracks, otherwise, it doesn't appeal to me much.

Unless you meant a version packed together with the album, there's already at least two different collected trades of the comic.

Besides:
"The album's concept was also issued as a series of comics by famed
graphic novelist Neil Gaiman, and features cover artwork by Dave McKean, illustrated by Michael Zulli, which is also getting a 20th
anniversary make-over."

Would be nice but would there be a demand for the same stuff again? I doubt Alice had any say or could be bothered about the re master.

This turned up the other day.

Like the versions of Trash and Hey Stoopid, what's on offer is a little underwhelming (no headline additions to the track listings, and it the case of this one, none at all). However, the presentation is good and there's an excellent booklet.

Now dare we talk about this quote from Alice, which is attributed to this year?

"I've noticed that a lot of bands are doing the whole of one classic album during their live performances. And if someone asked me, then I'd love to do The Last Temptation in sequence. What I'd do is open the set with a few hits, then play the entire album, before finishing with a few more hits. It's something I've not thought about doing until now, but you know what, I'd love to do that!"

Look forward to seeing this in 2015 then Alice

This would be a show to die for... but I won't believe it until the lights are dimmed and the opening chords of "Sideshow" start wafting through the PA.

Brilliant, brilliant album and one of my all time favorite albums by anybody.

Yes, I certainly wouldn't bet any money on this happening. It's a nice thought though.

I'm quite sure history will judge this album as one of Alice's finest works. 20 years on and still pure class.

Exactly. If a promoter is happy to book a show on that basis, then it should happen.

I'm with you on this. Three bonus is the minimum ante on these releases. I am really disappointed with the latest crop of re-releases.
