You know those Genesis releases were universally panned don't you? The stereo mixes are horrendous... the 5.1 mixes are hit and miss.

I have the TOTT, Duke, ATTWT titles and I think the 5.1 sound superb and the extra material really makes the purchases worthwhile. I cannot speak to the other titles. But whether they are panned or not doesn't matter to me, if I'm enjoying it and feel I got my money's worth - that's really all that matters to me.

If you love those Steve Hoffman versions of LITD, Killer and SO and think they are much more enjoyable than your old WB cds, than you're lucky. I felt I was sold a lot of hype and didn't get my $30 worth.

Much of this comes down to personal taste, although in some cases it seems to comes down to some sort of loyalty to an artist or an audio engineer. Hey that new remix/remaster of Rush's Vapor Trails is to me a most obvious case of the remix being a massive improvement but my brother-in-law prefers the original version. Yet we manage still to be friends and respect each other - imagine that.

Good for you. Many, many people seem to enjoy Mr. Hoffman's work as evidenced by a forum dedicated to his work that attracts thousands of people. Your opinion is just that, your opinion. If you don't like his work, that's fine... everyone has their own preferences. No need to be condescending about it though.

I like the Hoffman Cooper cds a lot but that place is just full of sheep who fawn over everything he does. I mean some of them buy titles just because he has worked on them not because they like the band. Ridiculous. He never answered any of Bob's concerns and often thinks he is more important than the artist or the producer.

As for condescending you started that with TB.

Yes, there is a bill with this release. Have only got time to listen to it once and noticed some studio chatter at the end of the track B$B : take 4 the dolby version (I don't know yet who said that).

My SACD player is broken right now and I must choose between fix it or buy a new one.
So my verdict is only on the sacd playing on a normal cdplayer.
I think it more faire to view some comments on the net.
