Stage moments
Alice Cooper stated himself in the early days they would use a mop or anything the band could get their hands on and use it for a stage prop.
I miss the days when rock n roll just did things without explanation, and it didn't have to mean anything. Bands these days just think too hard. Why does it seem to always have to mean something.
Alice still uses the snake. Alice is correct, some people take it sexually some people fear snakes and take it seriously and some folks think its funny.
Here are a few of my favorite Alice Cooper moments on stage:
The fat lady walking across the stage during Welcome to my nightmare on the Nightmare returns show.
The Psychotic look in Alice's eyes during Chop chop chop as he is swinging a hatchet on the RYFAY tour.
Nightmare returns tour, the Goes to hell segment Alice shoved the mic pole through the camera man. The part I love is when he comes back with another mic pole and it appears he is talking to himself and reenacting his crime!! What a sick moment
The comptroller from Brutal Planet
The podium used in the Carnival Tour during the song Cleansed by Fire & Nothings Free!!! Alice looks great!! Top hat ,attitude and all
These are some of the bigger moments that stick out with me..I always loved it when Alice behaved more "Clock-ward Orange" like on stage.
These days I would be happy if Alice in smeary eyed make-up wearing a derby got out a trash can, leaned over and sang Public Animal # 9

Re: Stage moments
I've always liked Department Of Youth on the Welcome To My Nightmare tour where Alice picks up a mask thrown onto the stage and puts it on.

Another good moment from Welcome to my nightmare is the segment where he sings like a little boy, and a man....the sudden switch of personality!! Loved it..
I'm a little boy, NO your a great big man!!!

Here are some photos of the Spiders/ACG using odd stage props.

Definately the dancing spiders. Just. So. Goofy.

Love the door as a stage prop...
If the Children Television Network would let Alice and Oscar sing together...GO FOR IT

Re: Stage moments
Alice and Oscar would probably get along fine, I mean Oscar loves Trash after all.

Re: Stage moments
During the Nottingham show last year, somebody threw a bunch of roses on stage. He picked them up and smashed them against his knee, showering me and the other guys at the front with petals. Love it when he reacts like that to something unexpected landing in his 'space'.

Do you remember the color of the roses, Cherrypie... Were they white, pink or were they red, black?cherrypie wrote:During the Nottingham show last year, somebody threw a bunch of roses on stage. One part that I've always loved is when Alice turns around for the first time with makeup on Trashes The World. Always gives me chills.

Always loved that (video) moment. Really marks that moment when he goes insane and all.Inmate wrote:One part that I've always loved is when Alice turns around for the first time with makeup on Trashes The World. Always gives me chills.
One of my favourites has always been Dwight Fry and the straight jacket. What a treat it was to see this from so close in Basel last year! So emotional! If you go here: http://www.baloisesession.ch/de/mediathek/gallery and find the gallery for Alice Cooper. Second photo, that's my hand on the very left! And a few lucky one to the right as well
And of course I always adored the Dirty Diamonds routine, what fun!

Wouldn't that have been Welcome To My Nightmare, during Black Widow?

Re: Stage moments
Nobody in his right mind would throw roses on stage, at an Alice Cooper show, and expect Alice to take them and say thanks. It's against the character.cherrypie wrote:During the Nottingham show last year, somebody threw a bunch of roses on stage. Re: Stage moments
Several years ago at a show in Ohio, a rather large woman thought it would be a good idea to come up near the stage and flash Alice during "Dirty Diamonds". Alice looks at the woman, gets a hilarious disgusted look on his face and half-heartedly tosses the diamonds at the woman as if to say, "Just take them and get the hell away from me."
Cooper took the stage, put on the best rock show since Gloria Estefan/Miami Sound Machine in 1987.
