Re: Highway81Revisited.com Interviews Alice Cooper
From that interview :
H81R: Are you working on a new album?
AC: I just finished the bed tracks for a new album in Los Angeles. There’s about seven vocals that I finished and I have about five or six vocals I need to finish, then that album’s done.
I have never done a covers album, and I decided to cover all my dead drunk friends. All the guys I used to drink with, we had a drinking club called the Hollywood Vampires. And so I’m covering Harry Nilsson, John Lennon, Keith Moon, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, The Small Faces, T Rex. It’s one of those things where all of the guys I used to drink with are gone, so we are covering those songs.
H81R: Do you have a title?
AC: Not yet. Bob Ezrin’s producing, so it’s a really good hard rock album.

I think the mention of "dead drunk friends" could be a hint of what way he's leaning. I like
"Hollywood vampires" myself though!

With all the bands mentioned, will be interesting to see what the tracks will be.

Since Mickey Dolenz isn't dead it would kind of make the Monkees track different from the others. If he was to guest on the album that would be good, being a Hollywood Vampire and all. Doubt he'd get any drumming duties but the man can certainly sing.

The Monkees was behind my time, but I like them, and I think that Alice should cover this.

The Monkees were a huge influence on the Beatles.
I'm swimming in blood.
Re: Highway81Revisited.com Interviews Alice Cooper
this is why if mickey is indeed on the album,it should be "Hollywood vampires". I wonder if pete townsend or roger daltry would be up for work on a who track?
Re: Highway81Revisited.com Interviews Alice Cooper
Hey, Hey We're The Beatles, Last Train To Peppersville etc. Now that's one covers album I'd definitely buy!pinkerton wrote:The Monkees were a huge influence on the Beatles.

Ok, I know a few of you are too young to remember this but, The Monkees exist because of The Beatles! After the '64 release of the movie "A Hard Days Night" (required viewing) the idea sprang up that why can't we do this weekly on American TV? They decided to "create" a band - so auditions began. Not saying that once The Monkees started recording in '66, The Beatles weren't paying attention, they still needed to keep their ears open to trends.pinkerton wrote:The Monkees were a huge influence on the Beatles.

I do believe Pinkerton was joking about that.
"You, sir, are a demented, sick, degenerate, barbaric, naughty freako."

Do you know wich song I'd love to hear in Alice's voice?
People who died, it fits with the Dead Drunk theme, and with an Alice touch it would be perfect. Also, Jim Carroll is dead!

Sailed right by me, been years since I viewed Dumb & Dumber & only saw it once. Tuneylune got it right off because he's a huge movie buff. Maybe not so for the rest of us. I'm spending alot of my free time with the needle in the grooves of my vinyl making a digital archive.pinkerton wrote:
