Itr was banned, causing Twisted Sister lost of popularity, failing at tour (that's the reason, I think, there were not Twisted Cooper Tour)

I think banning something generally makes it more popular.

I don't think there were any plans for that. However, there were plans for them to appear on a project Alice was planning at the time but that never happened and in any case, wasn't connected to this.

Really like the song, the video was funny with TS, Alice, Tom Savini (great makeup by him for the song) and Bobcat Goldthwait and COME OUT AND PLAY wasn't half bad. Maybe Alice coming back took some of the wind out of TS popularity or maybe fans didn't like COAP as much as STAY HUNGRY.

Re: Be Chrool to Your Scuel
I have met Tom Savini several times and one of the times I asked him about the video...he said that he took leftover latex and effects from Day of the Dead which had recently wrapped and that is what made the zombies look the way they did...said it took about a week to do it.

surprised that wasn't a box set inclusion! speaking of which,I found a small version of the box set today at an indie store. I wish I'd had that option back when it came out,it would fit much nicer on my shelf!
Re: Be Chrool to Your Scuel
Great song. I remember the first time I heard it. It was in a movie called "one crazy summer." Fun flick. The movie also has Bobcat in it. I wonder if there's a connection.

I LOVE ONE CRAZY SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of my favorite comedies, especially with Bobcat and the Godzilla suit ! Great soundtrack as well.

I saw Twisted Sister open for Alice at Beacon Theatre in New York City on 27 October 2003 on "The Eyes of Alice Cooper Tour".
They were pretty good in spite of receiving a rather luke warm reception from the audience.
Sebastian Bach opened the show.

Sounds like a killer show. I can't believe I didn't make that one. I use to live really close to the Beacon Theater.ReGorLaTroy wrote:I saw Twisted Sister open for Alice at Beacon Theatre in New York City on 27 October 2003 on "The Eyes of Alice Cooper Tour".

Re: Be Chrool to Your Scuel
I recall that the video for "Be Chrool To Your Scuel" was banned on MTV. In regards to Tim's question, unfortunately I don't think it would have helped sales for the "Constrictor" album that much. It is a Twisted Sister song with Alice doing a few vocals with Dee Snider. It might have helped slightly because it would have perhaps let a few more fans know that Alice was back, but not that much. The key during that time period was to get some radio airplay with songs off your own album. I recall our local radio station playing "Teenage Frankenstein" a few times, but for the most part they wouldn't play the album. Radio and video don't mean a lot these days, but back in the 80's it definitely did. Twisted Sister only had a few big selling albums, with "Stay Hungry" being their most successful work.
Re: Be Chrool to Your Scuel
I think its important to reflect on something. MTV was never cool. They were always corporate tools.

Re: Be Chrool to Your Scuel
that's a ballsy statement...also 100% correct!
Re: Be Chrool to Your Scuel
Thanks. A lot people like look back at the hay day of the channel and put it up in some lofty position. The thing is, they banded tons of stuff and were pretty major killjoys behind the scene.

Re: Be Chrool to Your Scuel
Scotty and Pinkerton....I salute both of you for those statements. HATE MTV...absolute garbage they normally play. The Buggles in the first MTV video were correct with "Video Killed The Radio Star". I guess 08/01/81 can be another "The day the music died"
