Alice Cooper remakes....
The last few weeks after reading the Rolling Stone Article about Alice Recording remakes I have given it much thought.
Hello Hooray
I'm always chasing rainbows
Talk Talk
7 & 7 is
I've got a line on you
Pretty ballerina
...and I guess its a remake ..Gutter Cat Vs the Jets
...for the most part I have always enjoyed Alice's interpretations.
I am sure Alice will make it his own.
Here is a list of songs that would be fun to hear how Alice would do it:
Delia's Gone by Johnny Cash
I can't decide by Scissor sisters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFKUnfwBPTU
Hell Broke Luce by Tom Waits
Gods gonna cut you down by Johnny Cash
The passenger by Iggy Pop
Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus
Dog eat dog-- Adam Ant
Cosmic Debris-- Frank Zappa

Sun Arise was great too.
I don't think GC v TJ is strictly a cover, it merely takes elements from The Jet Song. I get what you mean though!

God's Gonna Cut You Down is a great choice. I've always wanted to hear Alice play that. Fingers crossed that I'll get my wish one day.

But Alice said that there will be only covers of songs that mean something to him, people he knew, or music that he grew with and blah blah blah

If I could choose a song for Alice to cover, it would be Nightmare by Arthur Brown. I'd love to see what he could do with that
Is someone calling me?

Re: Alice Cooper remakes....
Ok, Let's take a look at this. I know this site is based in the UK but, has anyone actually listened to "Nights With Alice Cooper"? He spins "Classic Rock" - many nights he has a special pick that he reaches to the "Back Of The Rack" for. Let's just say one of these has struck his (or Bobs') fancy. Most of the time it's a "One Hit Wonder" or a regional hit that didn't quite make the national radar. These are the songs I believe he will mine for the "Covers" Lp. I could be wrong but he does have a pretty good track record of using obscure tunes and making them his own. I don't need another rehash of a song that already has gotten too much attention and I believe that is the direction that AC and Bob will be pointed in.

For the billionth time and as Lucius Morthem pointed out, Alice has already dropped a big clue as to the type of material that will be included. Why would you want to continue to speculate about it?

Isn't this what the board is all about? LM's post was vague (at best) and that leaves the door wide open for speculation. Get over it and let the songs pour out, maybe someone should do a poll and submit it to BE & AC!!!!A_MichaelUK wrote:>These are the songs I believe he will mine for the "Covers" Lp.

Andy, while we're on the subject of speculation, do you know if Alice will be using any of his touring band for the upcoming album?A_MichaelUK wrote:>These are the songs I believe he will mine for the "Covers" Lp.

Personally, I think Alice would do a GREAT cover of "No Fun" by The Stooges. And it would be cool to hear him say "Ori...tell 'em how I feel!" But, sure I'll enjoy whatever he releases.
Thanks for any info you can bring.
