It seems some people don't quite understand the concept that some songs literally cannot be performed because they either will not work in a live setting or are simply too obscure.
What I do is increase the bass and treble to max, and for a different effect I decrease the pitch of my cd player to negative 8% to make it sound a bit slower, blast the volume and BAM, I SWEAR From the inside cd sounds like heavy metal, big bass, guitar and pounding drums with Cooper's vocals at his most sinister.Far metal than the change that was made to those songs when playing them live since 79.SickThings wrote:Since when was "From The Inside" "metal"???dom dome wrote: FROM THE INSIDE
(orginal album version, not the live version which doesnt sound as heavy as Alice changed the versions of all the songs from this album when playing them live since 79 making them sound a little more uptempo and pop than metal and he needs to change them all back. If somethings not broken, dont try to fix it).

But the live dvds and cds keep on having the same line up of No more mr.nice guy,Under my wheels,Only women bleed,Poison,Im eighteen,Billion dollar babies,I love the dead,Dead babies,Ballad of Dwight fry, etc. How about Hallowed be my name,The quiet room, Long way to go, Second coming, Luney tune, Black juju,Yeah yeah yeah, Didnt we meet, Public animal 9, Raped and freezin, Still no air.A_MichaelUK wrote:It seems some people don't quite understand the concept that some songs literally cannot be performed because they either will not work in a live setting or are simply too obscure.
So you change your sound settings to make it sound "metal"? Fair enough, if you like it better that way. But how can you expect Alice to do the same when he plays those songs live? Apart from that, IMHO the changes made to the songs when performed live since the album came out are rather minimal compared to the adjustments you describe.dom dome wrote:What I do is increase the bass and treble to max, and for a different effect I decrease the pitch of my cd player to negative 8% to make it sound a bit slower, blast the volume and BAM, I SWEAR From the inside cd sounds like heavy metal, big bass, guitar and pounding drums with Cooper's vocals at his most sinister.Far metal than the change that was made to those songs when playing them live since 79.SickThings wrote:Since when was "From The Inside" "metal"???dom dome wrote: FROM THE INSIDE

Of course they do! Because these are the songs that the average concert goer or dvd buyer would expect to be there. As Alice has pointed out on several occasions, these are the songs he HAS to play because people expect him to. I go to see a lot of his concerts and I don't mind he plays those songs over and over again. On the contrary, I'd be disappointed if he left out, let's say, I'm Eighteen.dom dome wrote:But the live dvds and cds keep on having the same line up of No more mr.nice guy,Under my wheels,Only women bleed,Poison,Im eighteen,Billion dollar babies,I love the dead,Dead babies,Ballad of Dwight fry, etc.

Please!!! PLEASE!!!! Just for one tour, I want to see the current band perform nothing but current songs and some relatively unknown songs from past albums...skipping the Schools Out, Eighteen, Nice Guy hits. Just one tour...and it will be his last...because no one will book a show of his ever again. *Not to mention that many, many fans who attend these shows will walk out P.O. to the max.

That would certainly be a risk though - to play a lot of songs from an album most people aren't familiar with. A lot of promoters might not want to book a show on that basis. Again, for the billionth time and for better or worse, not everyone who goes to a show is a fanatic. In fact, most people at the shows are not. I am not saying that's good, just that that is how it is.

Neal smith or Mike Bruce I think you are! The bitterness and resentment almost comes off my computer monitor!GNDM wrote:....and AGAIN...and AGAIN....and AGAIN. The chant of:"Alice performs the same songs over and over." lol

I was not aware that Neal and Michael are bitter. But, I would think, that both would strongly suggest that Alice should continue to perform hits from the original band....unless he is A) Just about ready to stop touring or B) Aiming to do shows only in very small venues. If it is the latter...have him get in touch with me and I will see if I can line up gigs at the Dunes Lounge on W. Dunlap in Phoenix or perhaps at the old VIP club (now called the Cheetah Gentlemens Club on 7th Street and Indian School). The latter you can check out on the internet....Alice might enjoy the other 'talent' performing there. "Earwigs Forever"! Of course the gym and lunchroom at Cortez High is always open to him.Gunner wrote:Neal smith or Mike Bruce I think you are! I would happily attend an Alice show that skipped everything pre 1975 - he's done some superb solo work (in the name of 'the entity' ) I think.
