Don't do Facebook, but really, no comparison whatsoever. Loved Ozzy's time in Black Sabbath, but never really saw the appeal to his solo career (BLIZZARD OF OZZ notwithstanding) and his continued almost God like status is a mystery to me. Seems like a nice guy though... Alice in group or solo definitely gets the nod!

IMO Ozzy is a great singer, with great voice. But Alice is the best evil character in rock 'n roll.
Ozzy has great heavy metal songs, but Alice's songs are so different. Heavy metal, hair metal, hard rock, new wave, garage rock, industrial metal etc. And his voice is the best

As has been allured to by While Heaven Wept, what does it matter what Ozzy looks like?
how trite,I would have expected better from an Alice Cooper fan Danielle.

Obviously it's Alice for me, but we shouldn't underestimate Ozzy both with Sabbath and as a solo artist.
Geezer Butler was the main lyricist in Sabbath including for Iron Man, but Ozzy certainly came into his own as a lyric writer on his first two solo albums which are sensational, as good as anything Sabbath did and they were great.
He has a lot of melody in that voice that gets overlooked.

Also as a human being despite some of the bad press he has got from some of the drug/booze related bad things he has done like trying to kill his wife! underneath there is a lot of class to Ozzy.
I know for a fact that when he was looking for a guitarist and asked for demos via Kerrang! magazine, he wrote to everyone who sent them in after Zakk Wylde got the gig, I was one of them and I've still got the signed letter.

The trouble with all of these either/or polls is that it leads to a polarized view where often one of the rivals is criticised/seen negatively. For me, at times both have been top class although my preference is AC.I will have to check out Ozzy's first two solos again by the sound of it. Nice touch re Ozzy writing back to you and others Steven-the stage/public image in rock is often way of beam when compared to the human underneath. I am confident some, not all, dark stories re Ozzy have been exaggerated as they have with AC.

Ozzy certainly came into his own as a lyric writer on his first two solo albums...

Actually, the original Bassist in Ozzy's band, Bob Daisley wrote almost all of the lyrics on the 1st 2 Ozzy albums.

Ozzy has gone through most his career writing next to nothing. All of sabbath iommi / butler most of his solo stuff had a huge number of writers and as mentioned above he wrote hardley nothing of his first 2 solo albums.

He is a voice and frontman thats all ... no songwriting skills.

so for this alice wins easilly.

I have alot of love for Sabbath, but that's more due to the work of Iommi, Butler and Ward. Ozzy's solo career is pretty forgettable.

If it is originality, artistic talent, creativity, intelligence, philosophy, lyric writing, concept writing, stage presence, vocal delivery, ability to appear and sound 'evil', and just general look and presentation then it's Alice hands down. IF however, it is for being very genuine (not that Alice isn't), honest, funny, simple and quite 'cuddly' then Ozzy!

Really, there is no contest from an artistic perspective, none at all!!

I love Black Sabbath. I also love Ozzy's solo career. Diary Of A Madman is a fantastic album, but Alice will always have the win for me.

I'm a huge fan of Black Sabbath and Ozzy. Alice wins though.
Nobody comes close to Alice imo.
