What's Next for Cooper
Any word or thoughts on what Alice is going to do next? A covers album (I hope not), a record more in the vain of eyes (I hope so) Maybe attempt to try and tour the DaDa album (that would blow my mind)! The only thing I heard is that he's playing on a cruise ship in October just like the stupid Kiss Cruise. Please.

Re: What's Next for Cooper
I've heard that he is working on a covers album. I've also heard that he's finishing off an unreleased album called "Alice's Deadly Sins."
I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Let's hope it's "Alice's deadly sins". Can we let Shep Gordan know this. He seemed to be concerned regarding the raise the dead tour.

I'm not really keen on the idea of a covers album either. Having said that, it would depend on what songs he chooses to cover.

Re: What's Next for Cooper
What's your problem with Alice doing covers? I think he's doing them rather well, and why not let him pay tribute to some of his pals?
Take a look at my Alice Cooper photo gallery at http://theblackwidow.minus.com!
Re: What's Next for Cooper
Hmm that's interesting. So 2 AC projects? A cover album and an original? I thought the seven deadly sins project was eventually turned into brutal planet and dragon town but it seems like this material is seperate from how it's mentioned that it sounds like lace and goes to hell. Great to hear new developments!
Re: What's Next for Cooper
I would love to see his first studio double album-1st disc "alice's deadly sins" and the second "raise the dead".
Re: What's Next for Cooper
Is raise the dead a fictional title or something else he has planned?
Re: What's Next for Cooper
It would be cool for him to do a cover album, but what's really exciting is thhe Alice's Deadly Sins rumour.

Alice's deadly sins would be great. wouldn't care about a covers album at all though to be honest.

Who said anything about an album of that name?
Who said anything about an album of that name?
Re: What's Next for Cooper
Songs like sex, death and money and brutal planet seem like they are a take off of that idea with just altered arrangements for a more metal type sound but I guess it's just a coincidence. Cause bp and dragon town came out in the early 2000s around the time when he said he was thinking of the seven deadly sins in the late 90s so I thought maybe their a take off of that project. Exciting news regardless!

Glad you like them, but I disagree. The covers he has been doing on tour and in recent one-off shows, I felt were rather uninspired, in that he mostly did faithful renditions of the songs. I just don't see the need for that.
I much prefer a cover where he radically updates it (Talk,Talk) or makes if fit the Alice personna (Hello, Hooray)

If it was a bonus album or a few bonus songs I would bwith it. But e fine at this point in Alice's career I would rather get as much new music as possible.

When I'm Sixty-Four with a Alice twist would make one great cover. I think a cover album could be done rather quick still allowing for a new album six months down the line from that.

His cover of 'Born This Way' was quite radical IMO. I loved it.ThePainAddict wrote:"What's your problem with Alice doing covers? I think he's doing them rather well"

Re: What's Next for Cooper
I am not crazy about a covers album either. Alice is getting near the end of his career (how much longer, who knows), so more than likely, we are down to the last few studio albums. I would like those to be original material speaking as a fan. I personally would like to see him go back and do a fairly heavy, darker, guitar driven hard rock album. I know some of the criticism has died down and this is strictly my opinion, but I am still not crazy about the four covertunes in the live show. I like that he is playing a few surprises this year and would to see more of that.
Getting back to the covers idea, I hated the one Aerosmith did and the one Ozzy did was awful. I think you have to be careful especially with bands where the singer has a very distinctive voice (not a criticism of Alice love the Cooper voice), their vocals often don't work doing other people's music and vice versa. It is sort of like the Humanary Stew tribute album done for Alice. Two or three of the covers were good, but most not so much.
