That surprises me, you were my first thought - I doubt your AC knowledge could be beaten.

Surely someone that posts here or is involved with the website someway - no??

I am looking forward to seeing this.
I don't know whether it's because I have got older (and hopefully a little wiser!) but the show seems to have been dumbed down since I first started watching it in the seventies. For example on a recent show the specialist subject was the Titanic and although I am very interested in the Titanic I am certainly no expert-first question "In which city was the Titanic built?" For someone who is a specialist it's the equivalent of asking the name of Alice Cooper's first number one single! I played along and got eight questions right some which were very easy for anyone with only a fleeting interest in the disaster. I am not in any way trying to be a "Smart Alec" it's just an observation.
My bet is that there are a number of posters on here (especially Andy with his encyclopaedic knowledge of Alice) who will score maximum marks!!!It will be very interesting!

I think we should all watch and post our scores unless we score embarrassingly low of course..my wife is more confident that I will get a few correct than me..I love monty python and holy grail but was rubbish doing a quiz on dvd...do they still say I've started so I will finish? (would be good if it was Alice answering questions on his own history on Mastermind but i reckon his fans would score more.)..only minutes to go

Won't be a spoiler other than to say it was very subversive for the participant to be a long haired civil servant..Alice gets everywhere-one of his original intentions-me I got 8 on specialist and 6 on general, 14-would have been bottom..how many did you get pop pickers-?

I wasn't sure of one of the answers, which he got right before I had a chance to think it over, I knew one he got wrong and I made a ridiculous mistake on another. Nine or, with a few seconds more to think about it, ten would have been my specialist score. Have to compliment on him keeping cool and coming out with the 'correct' answer for the shocking mistake of a question, though it was pretty much the only answer that fitted.

He did miles better on his general knowledge than I did. Wasn't counting so I don't know my final score but I'm sure mid teens was about as good as I was looking at.

Alcuin Edwards is on FB with 164 friends. None of them Alice Fans. His profile page makes an interesting read though.

It certainly does make interesting reading! I'll need to catch him next time to test my knowledge on The Jagiellon Dynasty against his.

He won the show and is through to the semis, I recorded it as i was out and just watched it and played along though you can never recreate the pressure he was under.

I matched his Alice score of 11 passing on the Golf Course question getting the Zappa question wrong (it wasn't straight records) but getting one right he got wrong.

Think Andy Michael or Si could have done well, the guy did good and his general knowledge was good too.

Hope he wins it

by the way in the early 80s someone won I think it was the Australian or International version of Mastermind and their last general knowledge question was "by what name is Vincent Furnier better known?" it made the TV news

I got 10 right, but I thought it was "straight records" with Zappa!

Me too. Didn't know the chart position ones either. Got the rest right, but was too slow on some. Could never do it on the telly ::((:

I actually answered Straight/Bizarre records and gave myself a point. I got the chart positions for Elected/Poison correct (he didn't) but I had no idea about the golf course.

Is there a transcript of the questions?
