By posting this, didn't you do exactly what they requested you not do?

I was unaware that this forum was wall to wall with Grammy Voting Members

That's not the point, I don't think it's meant for public consumption.alan1958 wrote: I was unaware that this forum was wall to wall with Grammy Voting Members
I think the better choice if you wanted to relay the information would have been to simply mention that the song is up for nomination rather than post the entire letter when they expressly ask you not to.
But that's just me...

I've edited the original post to just relay the basic info. Don`t want to cause Dick any problems.
Re: Alice & Dick Wagner on Ballot For TWO Grammy's
this is exciting, but a head scratcher...the song probably has had no airplay and has not been performed live, but it's up for a grammy! hey,we'll take it right gang??

Hundreds of songs most people haven't heard get nominated in the initial Grammy-nomination rounds....

This is superb news but I agree that it is a strange choice. Does anyone know how the Grammy's work? Is it an independant panel? People in the industry etc.
Re: Alice & Dick Wagner on Ballot For TWO Grammy's
in a "rock" caegory no less! (ballad????)

The information at

For me the Grammy rank alongside the R&RHoF and Rolling Stone magazine in terms of recognizing deserving musicians. Always way too late and then recognizing some of their less deserving work. If you look at Alice (and Dick to some degree) body of work there were so many more worthy choices. However, look at when Alice was nominated last time, again not his elite work.

A decent list. But isn't hard to find evidence to the contrary. Milli Vanilli and of course, the classic example would be Eleanor Rigby & Good Vibrations lose to Winchester Cathedral.
They tend to recognize many artists past their prime because they failed to recognize them when they should have (hence the Jethro Tull, Aerosmith, etc.).
Anyone can view all of the winners and nominees for themselves and come to their own conclusions. I stand by mine.
