Hopefully he'll do a bunch of Huey Lewis songs.

I guarantee there'll be a Burt Bacharach song if he does a cover album. Maybe an Iggy Pop one too.

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
I’m not very enthusiastic about this. Alice can surprise people, as he did with his cover of Pretty Ballerina, but I suspect this will be a collection of fairly obvious songs from the usual suspects and it’s a fair bet it will be heavily weighted towards his stated influences of the British Invasion of the sixties. I’d expect Train Kept A Rollin’ to be in there in there and probably stuff like:
Rolling Stones – Brown Sugar or Start Me Up
Beatles – Back In The USSR
The Who – My Generation
The Doors – Break On Through
Pink Floyd – Another Brick In The Wall
Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Fire
Personally, I think he could cover those bands but still come up with more interesting choices such as:
Rolling Stones – All Over Now
The Beatles – Run For Your Life
The Who – The Seeker
The Kinks - I’m Not Like Everybody Else
And how about
The Stooges – Dirt
or even
Iggy Pop – Eat Or Be Eaten
If he’s doing Pink Floyd, hopefully it’d be an early Syd Barrett one and if he does The Doors, may as well do the line he takes the credit for coming up with and cover Roadhouse Blues.
In an ideal world Train Kept A Rollin’ would feature the original Alice Cooper group. The whole thing could be rounded off by the original group again covering……Fields of Regret. Since they apparently considered redoing it for Love It To Death and the general consensus that the first two (pre Ezrin) albums sound like a different band, it would be an amazing choice.
Whatever the track list, the important thing in my mind is that he doesn’t put together a collection of tunes that can be heard being covered in bars most weekends, but I think that’s what we might get.

I would like to see him cover some new material. This cover album is not generating any excitement with me.

Anything really, Alice's expressive snarl can make any crap sound good in my opinion.

Some Tom Waits ,Beatles ,Rolling Stones , and i hope "Sweet Dreams"..Although it has been covered enough by a bunch of artists,I still think that it's clearly an Alice-style song.

Manson already did it, so I doubt Alice would touch this. Nor should he.Holly Grail wrote:and i hope "Sweet Dreams"..Although it has been covered enough by a bunch of artists,I still think that it's clearly an Alice-style song.

Could be interesting.....perhaps they'd approach it in the same way Rubin did Johnny Cash?

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
Alice has already covered Sweet Dreams live with Manson which sounded great, although he took one portion as lead rather than the whole song.
I'd like him to do something surprising like 'Born this Way' was, which was well modified and totally suited for him.

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
I think covers albums are a waste of time if the artist plays it safe and doesn't take some chances.
Hopefully Alice puts his stamp on it comes up with some interesting arrangements.

Kind of leery of all covers albums as they are usually full of the usual suspects. Don't really care for Lady GaGa, but Alice did a good version of "Born This Way". Some other songs I would like to see him tackle...
"Train Kept a Rollin'" Have heard the old band used to do soundchecks with this-either a recording from that era if it exists or with the original band with lots of Yardbirds harmonica.
"Astrominy Dominie"-Pink Floyd (Syd Barrett version)
"Queen Bitch"-David Bowie
""You Can't Do That" or "I'm Down"-Beatles
"Dirt"-The Stooges
"Til The End of the Day"-Kinks
"Live With Me"-Rolling Stones
"Gone Shootin'"-AC/DC
"Hip to Be Square"-Huey Lewis and The News-would be funny with him doing it.
"Run Run Run"-The Who
"Ride My Seesaw"-Moody Blues
"Hot Rails to Hell"-Blue Oyster Cult
All sorts of weird things come to mind, but I'll still check out whatever he does.

Three blind mice
The scoobie doo theme song
London Bridges
Miss mary Mac
Alice had a little lamb
and to push this totally over the edge..
Sesame Street song..
I would also like Tommy to produce this, as I am sure he will make it sound incredible!

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
I could see him including an Elvis song, he did Jailhouse rock live. I'm trying to remember what he chose on Ken Bruce's tracks of my years. My sherona, 19th nervous breakdown were definately there, he always cite's the british 60's bands as a big influence but he does tend to dig out something a bit leftfield - pretty Ballerina being a perfect example.

Do you think David Bowie would allow Alice to do any of his songs?
Anything I say or write is my own personal opinion, no matter who agrees or disagrees with me.

As far as I'm aware, permission is not needed unless the lyrics are changed.

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
I'm not very excited about a cover album either so he can do whatever songs he likes and I hope he enjoys it. My favorite cover of his to date is Talk Talk, a great song originally and I like Alice's version even better.
