I'm not thrilled with this idea at all. He has enough covers to make a compilation already. Covers are boring. IMO. Rather have a new album of new material. Besides isn't the covers thing kind of over. Whats next Alice unplugged? Symphonic Alice? Please scrap the idea. Covers are good for bonus tracks and thats about it. IMHO.
Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
If it is really true I hope he does an album with some obscure songs. Not the songs everyone expects.

Alice also has over two dozen albums+ of original songs and has intentions of carrying on with new material. One silly cover album won't hurt anything.Street Schizo wrote:I'm not thrilled with this idea at all. He has enough covers to make a compilation already. Covers are boring. IMO. Great idea! Also I think he could do a great version of Black Swampy Water by Elf (although maybe more suited to the Dio covers album??), and Prelude/Nightmare by the Crazy World of Arthur Browntim10cc wrote:

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
I'm not overly thrilled about a covers album. I can't think of too many that really appeal after two or three listens.
Wouldn't it be interesting though if he did a cover album of one or two tracks from the Battle Axe album plus a few from Michael Bruce and Neil Smith that were on their solo albums plus one or two new songs. Now that would be worth listening to and would get a bit more attention from the media and fans alike.
As mentioned by a few people, if he's going to cover some songs by The Who and The Beatles it would be nice if he did more obscure songs.

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
This is the last thing i would want from Alic. I'M all for a cover song on an album or as a bonus track, but not a full length cover album. That said, I'm sure Alice couldn't care less what I want lol so if he is gonna do it I would like to hear him cover these songs.
Marilyn Manson's version of Sweet Dreams
The Doors - People Are Strange
The Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
W.A.S.P. - The Great Misconception Of Me
Pink Floyd - Another brick In The Wall Part 2
Wednesday 13 - The Ghost Of Vincent Price
Lady Gaga - Bloody Mary
45 Grave - Party Time (single or zombie version)
Bahaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead
Twisted Sister - Horror Terrier
Rob Zombie - Living Dead Girl
Motley Crue - Either 'Danger' or 'Save Our Souls'
Type O Negative - Black #1
Ramones - Pet Semetary
Black Sabbath - NIB
Johnny Cash - Aint Grave' or 'Delia's Gone'
Michael Jackson - Thriller (That would be epic in my opinion)

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
Hard to care really, I expect it will be a bunch of bland workaday garage rock covers with a Lady Gaga song or some other flavour of the month 'unexpected' cover to get some publicity from The Sun.

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
Thats exactly whaI was thinking and why it didn't interest me in the 1st place. Maybe if it was a bonus disc for a new album or something, but I would much rather Alice focus on creating something original.

Re: What do you want to see Alice cover?
I don't mind the occasional cover on an lp. In fact, I wouldn't mind it, but Alice typically hasn't done any orignal arrangements. However, not looking forward to a covers lp. Although, I do hope they do radically different arrangements.
I would go for Happy Together, cause you know who will be doing the back-up vocals.
In My Room could use an Alice snarl.

"We Built This City" by Starship.
Alice should shock everyone and do a covers album of embarrassingly bad songs.

By the look of some of the suggestions, and if Alice took the advice, he would do.RemarkablyInsincere wrote:Alice should shock everyone and do a covers album of embarrassingly bad songs.

I assume you're jesting. But if not, as much as I like country music, this would be bad. Very. Bad.homerx wrote:I was thinking he could do an entire country album.
