Most satisfying

Post by tim10cc » Tue May 29, 2012 4:17 pm

I have been to every Cooper show that's hit St. Louis since Nightmare Returns. I've walked away satisfied with my dose of Cooper at each show. Some tours stick out more than others. The most satisfying Alice show Ive attended with a decent setlist of new material along with some great classics & theatrics is a tie between Raise your Fist & Yell and Brutal Planet. What Cooper shows stick out more than others for you ?

Bristol, last year. Queue was indoors out of the rain with a bar next to it, met lots of new friends, made it to the barrier, AWESOME set list, then I got to throw the balloons out during SO, and had a great VIP meet with Alice afterward for about an hour (between the 9 of us!)
Just hoping this year isn't a let down. (As if!!!) :8):

And then there was the 100 Club......that was pretty awesome too.

The ones where I've come away with a cane have always been some of the most satisfying for me.

I'd have to say Special Forces, because I have never known an atmosphere like it and Trash because it had a real air of success about it, plus I loved that he played so many songs off the album.

Along Came A Spider tour because I was front row and I caught Damon Johnson's guitar pick

All the shows I've seen were great but the one that stands out just a little more was Brutal Planet. Halloween. NYC. Something about Halloween and the Coop and NYC that makes things a little more festive for me.

Have enjoyed all five I've seen, but the last one (10/16/02 DRAGONTOWN tour) was the BEST. Five rows away from the madness, a nice pre-Halloween chill in the air, got to hit a balloon, went with a friend, great set list (not crazy about DRAGONTOWN, but the songs he picked came off well, especially "Fantasy Man") with a few surprise thrown in, band was smokin' and...
Well, everything!

I've got a three-way tie.

The first time I saw Alice in the USA - three nights in a row in a small theatre, leaning on the stage each night, plus getting to meet friends that I'd previously only been able to speak to online.

The after show performance in Las Vegas in 2009, held at Keri's Aces & Ales bar - the band played a short setlist of some of their favourite songs including numbers by Thin Lizzy and Motorhead. They were then joined for a few numbers by guest vocalist "Al" - winner of a local Karaoke contest. ;)

The 100 Club show - that was just something else altogether and gets the honorary award for warmest show I have ever attended.

The two shows I saw up in Niagara Falls at the Fallsview Casino are high on my list.

First off, to get there we had to drive 9 hours for what is normally a 4 hour drive due to a massive snow storm hitting in October of all months.

An incredibly intimate venue where we ended up on the stage both nights. With no barrier, you're so close you have to move your arms off the stage in order to allow Alice room and to avoid being stepped on.

I got some incredible photos both nights... and was able to meet the multi-talented Calico Cooper in the casino and she was gracious enough to take pics with us.

Alice hasn't played there since to my knowledge.

Sparky....I envy those shows.

I have seen him only 3 times and all three were fantastic. 1987, 2007 and 2009.
