I agree. Looks pretty cool, but then I do like Burton/Depp films generally.
I *think* I recall reading that the film is actually darker in tone then this first trailer suggests, and that a second trailer will follow showing this more.

Trailers can be wildly different in tone from the actual movie - even if a big shot director like Burton is involved.

I must say I was expecting something a lot darker from
Tim but hopefully the other trailer will show more creepiness. This reminds me of beetle juice. Black humour type comedy. But by the end of the trailer most of the black humour wore off for me. Hopefully alice has a long cameo to add some creepiness!

Looks my kind of film..was listening at about 59 seconds in and wondered if that was alice singing a disco record in background..probably an aural hallucination on my part.. I am always looking/listening for the presence of AC (others must suffer from this surely)..I just watched suck and liked that...this looks way higher comic/horror quality..burton/depp with a hint of Coop will do me...ta for posting

Yes Alice is oh so briefly seen in the trailer...when Barnabas arrives at that party, if you look on the staircase in the dead center in the far back, you can tell its him for the briefest of moments...

How can you possibly tell that from ONE trailer and a post in an Alice Cooper forum?! The reaction on Burton's facebook seemed rather excited. I have seen mention of it, and Alice, on mainstream media, and myself and a number of friends want to see it. While uou apparently see a Burton/Depp collaboration as a bomb, many see that as big screen gold. Could it suck? Certainly. But we might want to wait for the WHOLE film and box office nimbers to decide that...

I absolutely cannot stand Tim Burton so don't ask me what I think.

Dark Shadows is virtually unknown to most people in the UK. I am 48 years old, English and I have never seen an episode of Dark Shadows. Therefore, I suspect most of the posters on this site will not have seen it either so I wouldn't expect loads of posts about it on here.
