quite enjoyed that, clever use of autotune to work the vocal in

Funnily enough, although Alice isn't much of an admirer of Coldplay, he absolutely loves that track.

of course this is the song that Joe Satriani claimed Coldplay plagiarized sections of his track If I Could Fly, it was dismissed by the California District Court upon stipulation suggesting that an out of court settlement was reached.
Similarity?

Re: interesting Alice Cooper/Coldplay mash up
someone did a mash up of both songs which emphasizes even more how similar they are, of course it could have been coincidence but could be Coldplay were listening to Joe Satriani!

I liked that! thanks steven!!
Re: interesting Alice Cooper/Coldplay mash up
while heaven wept mentioned autotone-I didn't detect that effect, but to my ears it sounded like a different vocal from the studio version,or even the alice does alice version. would this be the autotone manipulating the vocal,or is it just because it's somewhat isloated? that's alice, but not the nuances i know from hearing that song tons of times!

to me it sounds like a few notes have been changed to suit the backing track, but it may just be psychological!scotty wrote:while heaven wept mentioned autotone-I didn't detect that effect, but to my ears it sounded like a different vocal from the studio version,or even the alice does alice version. would this be the autotone manipulating the vocal,or is it just because it's somewhat isloated? that's alice, but not the nuances i know from hearing that song tons of times!
Usually someone would use a program like melodyne to shift a few notes.... it's not strictly autotune as it is a manual process.

Re: interesting Alice Cooper/Coldplay mash up
it is the original vocal and it sounds like it was tweaked a little bit in parts but not much

I'm not much of a Coldplay admirer either. But I found this mash up entertaining. The Alice/ Earth, Wind & Fire mash up is more fun, IMO.

Totally agree with you about the Alice in Boogie Wonderland mash up, it has #1 written all over it, can't believe a forward thinking record company doesn't do something with it, totally awesome!departmentofyouth wrote:I'm not much of a Coldplay admirer either.
