he survived

Post by dadascot » Mon Feb 20, 2012 12:36 am

This is from the paris special 1981. My friend was saying the other day just how remarcable it is that Alice not only survived his alcoholism but became one of the most comfortable in his own skin people that he had ever seen. this clip shows just how Ill Alice really was. And how dangerous as well, a man on the edge of the precipice. I guess that is what made that era so fascinating.

there's no denying how ill he was,but he was also using some scary makeup at that time, making it look much worse! his scary thinness though was crazy. he was a pole. It would be kind of funny if he brought that look back for the heck of it,if even on some halloween or one night.

Great Look, but I don't think he could bring that back, too much middle age spread like the rest of us, unfortunately. If you look at the interview from the riverside at the same time he can see how sunken and drawn he looks, very skeletal, although the eyes remain bright.

I have viewed most a the paris special on youtube and I have tried to download it in it's entirety, unsuccesfully. I have tried to track it down but with no luck, I know that it was available on vhs for a while but does anyone know if it has ever been available on dvd? or how to download it properly?

No problem at all. I should have added that you shouldn't really be supplying a link to material that doesn't belong to you, but that's for the moderators to deal with if they want to.
