Well IF that's the big announcement, it should've been titled as "A Big Announcement for the North American Fans to Come in a Few Weeks"....
Poor Europe :8):

There may be more European dates announced at the same time, and they will likely be headline shows, not "very special guest" slots.

I agree. And, as far as I'm concerned, a few headline shows on top of what is already known would be so much more appreciated than a bunch of more festival dates / special guest stuff

Iron Maiden/Alice Cooper is sure to be a great show. Although I don't really like seeing Alice doing a somewhat strippe down show while it's still light outside as it will be at The Molson Ampitheatre. I'll be there either way

Being a longtime devout follower of both Alice and Maiden, I am stoked for this tour!

Although Alice is being billed as 'Special guest' i just hate the thought of him being a support act for anyone, I'm not sure how bing Maiden are in America. Personally never liked them although I did once get a drumming lesson by Nicko Mcbrain for a tv show I was doing and he was a brilliant guy.

Dadascot - Maiden's last studio album charted at number 4 in the USA, their highest position to date. If that's any indication for ya :) For the record, it went to number one in 28 countries worldwide.

Grew up listening to Maiden, amassed a huge collection, but my enthusiasm has cooled lately. Whereas Alice took a while to fully appreciate, but now he's my all-time hero.

It's academic anyway, when this tour hits the UK it'll almost certainly be a one-off festival show, like the previous two Early Years tours.

I like Maiden, but their last 3 albums have been atrocious.

Big enough that Alice can be their "special guest" instead of vice versa. I might have to catch the Noblesville, Indiana show at Kirpisck Amphitheater or whatever the crap it's called now.

I'm considering going to one of these shows.... i could do with getting away from England for a few days for various reasons.

Having never been to the USA or Canada, can anyone recommend which show/city i should look at going to? Any advice would be great

xx

Bigger then 99% of other Metal bands I would wager. They are one of the biggest touring acts in the world.

So it seems this is "the big announcement". I'm a little let down. Opening slot on a tour does not impress me too much. Although on the bright side it pretty much gurantees him a large crowd and hopefully he will keep the 3 guitar attack as I remember Alice saying he wanted 3 guitars for last year tours to beef up the heaviness of playing some festivals with Maiden.

I just checked the official website but I can't find any proof that the Maiden/Cooper tour was the big news.
