About a year ago someone posted a single photo of Alice chatting with Stallone at The Expendables After Party in London ........

Sorry if they are old , but I'd never seen these other ones ,where it certainly looks as if Sly is happy to have a chat with Alice .....I wonder if they were talking golf .....or longevity !!

My guess is they're exchanging tips on hair dye ;)

There's something about Stallone mentioning Alice in Cobra also...

Sly is a fan.

There is a pretty cool AC reference in 'Tango And Cash' as well if you can spot it :)
(and yes it's a delibrate reference)

What was the reference?

I don't recall the reference but Poison is playing in the strip club.

Sly doesn't mention Alice specifically in Cobra, he just states he wishes he had a more manly name, like Alice.

Hmm.., I was SURE it was "Tango and Cash" but checking back it could have been "Cobra" instead.

"In the movie "Cobra", his girlfriend asks him what is middle name is and he embarrassingly tells her that it is 'Alice'"

Can anyone check? It's a scene when they are standing next to a crashed truck or something if I recall. Have seen it but many years ago.

I haven't seen Cobra in years, but now that you mention it, I vaguely remember that line. Had no idea at the time it was refernce to Alice though.
Just out of curiosity (and I'm suggesting you're wrong!) how do you know it's actually an intentional reference?

Because as I recall Brian Nelson asked Sly!
I also have a *vague* recollection of him telling me that at Sly's house the was an AC photo in a "picture table" in the front room, like a center room coffee table or similar which photos in it under glass. You could see it in some interview he did. Maybe Andy remembers more.

It's covered on this very site Si, although what's stated isn't quite right:

http://www.sickthingsuk.co.uk/misc/celeb-fans.php

The scene is 54 minutes in and where they are standing outside a merchandise stall. Here's the dialogue:

Ingrid: Did you find out anything new?

Cobra: Since you were in the bathroom? No, not really.

Ingrid: I did.

Cobra: Like what?

Ingrid: Marion Cobretti, is that really your name?

Cobra: Gonzalez talks too much doesn't he?

Ingrid: That's not so bad.

Cobra: It's kind of tough growing up with don't you think?

Ingrid: Well I like it.

Cobra: Do you?

Ingrid: Yeah.

Cobra: Well I always wanted to have a tougher one myself, you know, something a little harder name.

Ingrid: Like what?

Cobra: Alice!

He posted it on my SickThings list on March 1, 1997, though he didn't get it quite right:
Stallone is a pretty big fan.
In the movie "Cobra", his girlfriend asks him what is middle name is and he embarrasssingly tells her that it is "Alice".

It's in a post from Brian to my SickThings list on November 3, 1997:
The new issue of Architecture magazine has a feature on Sly Stallone's
home. There is a photo of his living room and if you look carefully, you
will find a framed picture of Stallone with Alice and Shep displayed on a
table.

DeGnR8 posted this on my SickThings list on May 3, 1999:
Poison IS in the movie..but you only hear it slightly in the
background.....It's played when Kurt Russell is talking to Stallone's
"sister" backstage at the club where she works...(after she does her
dance)..the conversation where he says "hey elvis, what size are you?".

Marion, btw, was the given name of John Wayne.

Oh, and on that "Celebs" page, Gene Simmons seems a tad nicer than he usually does, in an email to a fan... I'm sort of hoping his public image is pretty far from his real person.
