I was thinkin about how I am addicted to screaming guitars and theres some tracks I couldnt stop playing because of the guitars (on vinyl I used to just position the needle exactly again and again when I was younger)

My top 7

1. Sick Things (the very end part-love the decadent tone)
2. Serious-the intro especially
3. Schools Out beginning
4. Hello Hurray-middle floaty section(usually my no1)
5. I like Girls/Remarkably Insincere althouh will have to play this again to locate my fave bit
6. Wish You were here-the high pitched bit to the end
7. Pass the gun around..and yours are?

In no particular order

GB riff on School's Out, solos on Dwight Fry & Is It My Body and the collaboration with MB on Halo of Flies and You Drive Me Nervous

MB rhythm and riffs on Second Coming, Elected, No More Mister Nice Guy, Hard Hearted Alice and the collaboration with GB on Halo of Flies and You Drive Me Nervous

Steve Hunter's solo on Hello Hooray (as an update to the Billion Dollar Babies album page on this site; Steve confirmed when i asked him that he did play the solo on Hello Hooray and the second 8 bar solo on Raped & Freezing, the second 4 bar solo and outro solo on Billion Dollar Babies. Bob Ezrin cites Steve's solo at the end of Generation Landslide as putting him in his rock n roll hall of fame) plus the solos on Some Folks, Steven & I Am Made Of You.

Dick Wagner's solos on My Stars, Black Widow, King Of The Silver Screen and Jacknife Johnny

Davey Johnstone on Wish I Was Born In Beverly Hills

Rick Nielsen on Serious

Kane Roberts riff and solos on Teenage Frankenstein and Freedom

John McCurry Poison riff and solo

Slash middle solo on Hey Stoopid and Vengeance Is Mine

Stef Burns solos on Dangerous Tonight, Might As Well Be On Mars, Fire and Cleansed By Fire

Joe Satriani solo on Wind Up Toy and collaboration with Steve Vai on Feed My Frankenstein

Vince Gill on Runaway Train

and not forgetting Ryan Roxie on Sunset Babies, wish I could be at the Kilburn gig tomorrow but will be watching Spurs v Villa.

Got to agree with both of you guys on your picks. I would add Cold Ethyl to the list. That intro is killer. I also love the live version of 18 with Dick and Steve from the AC Show. That one just smokes. I loved the sound of the guitars on TEOAC. They just jumped off that release and the guitars on Brutal Planet are just so heavy. Like laying on the floor in the fetal position while getting beat on the head and body with a baseball bat. Nice guitar work on W2MN but less heavy for the most part. And being a fan of rock guitar, I really enjoyed the recent tour with 3 guitar players. That has added a new layer of aggression to the songs.

yes Steve Hunter's opening riff on Cold Ethyl is killer one of Slash's personal favourites

not forgetting Dick Wagner's solo in the middle of the song

the live version on LA Forum 75 in fact that whole recording is a masterclass from Hunter & Wagner, a much better sound recording than the Wembley concert film of that show.

Every single song you guys suggested are all good.

Always loved Dangerous Tonight. Amazing. Pass the gun around is awesome too.

Roses on White lace was a gem as well. Some great covers of this on youtube. Naildown is the best one.

(sorry if link does not work, just search youtube)

There are some moments on "Step on you" that are absolutely insane. Not This Kind of Love is very very underrated. Those maybe are not the greatest examples of what might be considered to be "classic" sounding but Kane's playing was crazy because his use of the whammy bar imo.

even though Freedom is the standout track it is Side 2 of Raise Your Fist that is the strongest part of a really good album with Kane on fire.
Always loved the Chop Chop Chop riff which is so catchy ITV used it in a film trailer

The general guitar work on Jackknife Johnny is fabulous, too. Nothing fancy or complex. That's what makes it so great.

totally agree one of Dick Wagner's finest copying it is one thing but coming up with something so memorable is another. I love the interplay with the keyboards too.
