know nothing about the NBA or what this lockout is, but having been to COoperstown twice, it's a damn shame they're taking a hit cos it's a fantastic place.

here in cleveland,we need our teams for the restaurants. It's a nice draw for them to have fans come in before and after a game. it's worth noting that here in cleveland,we had a cooperstown close already.

Cooper'stown is the Cooper fans equivalent to Mecca for Muslims, every Cooper fan should try and visit at least once before they die!
Pleased I got there and hope it can continue, sure it will, sort your act out NBA!

I have never been there....if it closes, I will die.
In reality, I don't think it will close. All Alice has to do is have a concert there and call it a day.....

Just more nonsense. Best to ignore it.GNDM wrote:GailsFriend wrote:I have never been there....if it closes, I will die.

Alice opened it with a performance with Michael and Neal which I've got on video, but do you want him to play a gig there and then retire?GailsFriend wrote:I have never been there....if it closes, I will die.

I'm hoping he's going to carry on until he drops though not like comedic legend Tommy Cooper did on stage, which everyone thought was part of the act!

As if one show in that place would be enough to cover $500,000 of losses.steven_crayn wrote:

Some people are not grounded in reality, me thinks.

I think GailsFriend was hoping to attend a gig at Cooper'stown by Alice and then GailsFriend would be happy?RemarkablyInsincere wrote:As if one show in that place would be enough to cover $500,000 of losses.steven_crayn wrote:

I don't think GailsFriend was putting forward an economic solution, were you GailsFriend?

GF could post lots of good reviews on the experience if he or she gets to a cooperstown!

A little unnecessary in my opinion, has Gailsfriend said something to offend you?RemarkablyInsincere wrote:Just more nonsense. Best to ignore it.GNDM wrote:GailsFriend wrote:I have never been there....if it closes, I will die.

Re: Alice Cooper'stown Restaurant losing $$$ from NBA Lockou
I was just confused about GF's comment about "having a concert there and calling it a day."
Did she mean - have his band play there one night and then close the doors? I hope things are not that bad. Or did she mean - have a AC concert to make up for the lost money? I know that you could not squeeze more than a couple hundred people in front of the little outdoor stage. So, unless AC charges several thousand dollars (pounds) a head....that won't work.
PS...Cooperstown isn't the only downtown business suffering from the NBA lockout. Sadly, I imagine that a good sized group of Cooperstown employees might be on temporary layoff.

Re: Alice Cooper'stown Restaurant losing $$$ from NBA Lockou
Restaurants in all NBA cities are having a decline in business because of the NBA lockout. Cooperstown has always drawn a nice crowd before and after games. The NBA has a long season so it is only natural Cooperstown is going to lose some business. However, that does not mean it is going out of business.

I think the over the top posts are a little much. While Heaven Wept wrote: A little unnecessary in my opinion, has Gailsfriend said something to offend you?
Perhaps I interpreted that wrong, but it certainly sounded like GailsFriend was saying all Alice has to do to save the restaurant is to hold one show there which is really *quite* ridiculous.

Exactly.
That's unfortunate. Hopefully this lockout doesn't last the whole year. I would hope, however, that the restaurant can weather the storm either way.GNDM wrote: Sadly, I imagine that a good sized group of Cooperstown employees might be on temporary layoff.
