Since Coop has released a Stones knock off song and makes frequent references to them I have provided a link to the recent GQ interview with Keef.

A few interesting comments on being an entertainer vs. musician.
Who do you prefer in Coop's ever changing stage line-up, entertainers or musicians?

Re: Entertainers vs Musicians
definately musicians. alice does all the entertaining imo. some of these guys look a little stiff trying to play a part in the show....now tommy henricksen and chuck garric are good examples of an exception-they play around but are incredible musicians. the ACG were all better musicians than entertainers imo. hunter and wagner,ditto..
Re: Entertainers vs Musicians
Musician for sure. While I do love and respect the Stones (they're way better than The Beatles) I honestly wish that Alice would quit emulating them with each and every album.
Have to agree that the ACG were great musicians, however I'll perfer Wagner/Hunter slightly avobe them. :D

If I may put forward a slice of personal colostomy...
Re: Entertainers vs Musicians
double egad. they have 27 number one songs that say otherwise..and don't forget mick and keith didn't even know how to write until john and paul knocked off "I wanna be your man" for them in a few minutes, and were kind enough to give them that throwaway.

Stones were a better live band but the Beatles made better records, though The Beatles were a great live band too and the Stones made great records. We are talking the best of British here so by most peoples standards even a bad Stones record is better than most records.
Think Alice's current line up is the best musically for a while.
Anything involving Steve Hunter is going to sound class and there is no doubting Orianthi's musicality, love the arrangement they now do for Only Women. Also Glen Sobel must the the best drummer Alice has had for a while and Tommy and Chuck are solid as a rock.
Of course there have been great musicians that were also great entertainers Hendrix, Prince, Keith Emerson and Pete Townshend spring to mind.
